Hi, Troubleshooting may vary on different model of mouse. Try this steps.

On the bottom there is a button next to the battery symbol all you need to do is press this button and the top bottom portion with the logitech name on it should lift off to reveal battery compartment.

Or

Look for little button on the bottom with a "lock" symbol on it. Press this and the battery chamber opens.

My wireless mouse has quit working. I'm guessing I need a new battery. However, I can't figure out how to even find the battery, let alone change it! How do I do that????

Cutting down on the number of wires that must be tolerated in a work station adds to maneuverability and ease of location. For all their convenience, though, wireless accessories bring with them a number of issues not present in their wired counterparts, most significantly battery change.
Instructions

    • 1 Turn off the mouse.
    • 2 Remove the top of the top of the battery compartment. The button that releases it is located toward the rear of the mouse.
    • 3 Remove the old battery and place the new one in its place. Replace the cover and turn the mouse back on.

GE wirless Keyboard & mouse 98552: Worked great, changed mouse batteries, now it won't reconnect. Press the connect button on bottom of mouse... no luck?

You also need to click on the receiver button. After the receiver button is clicked then you would need to click the mouse button located under the mouse. If all of this was done try replacing the batteries again with a new set of batteries. I've seen new batteries not work before that has died while sitting in it's package.

My logitech wireless mouse stopped working. I

Turn the mouse over. There is a battery cover that needs to slide to open. Your mouse should take 1 AA alkaline battery. Also there is a recesssed button on the underside that you you can press (with a pen tip or paper clip to reset the mouse). Either the new battery or the reset should solve your problem.
Please rate this solution. Thanks.

I just dropped my mouse by accident and it doesn't work now. How do I fix this?

open up the door to make sure the batteries are okay, reseat the batteries into the slots to make sure the batteries are making proper contact.

If that doesn't work, then try new batteries just to be sure the batteries aren't the issue.

If it still doesn't work then leave the new batteries in and the usb adapter that comes with that mouse, hook it back up to the usb slot on the laptop and see if windows recognizes the mouse. If no messages come up then go into the device manager and see if the mouse shows up in there.

It will show up as either the type of mouse you have or a yellow question mark which would mean you need to reinstall the software for the mouse.

if nothing shows up in the device manager for the mouse then that means the mouse is bad and would need to be replaced.
