Question about Dryers

1 Answer

This is around the 5th time asking the same question. My frigidaire dryer wants to turn on, and when it does, it does so for maybe 30 seconds. I'll try again and all that I get is a sound like it is trying to turn the drum. I know there is power and all breakers are working and on. The first time that it stopped, I blew out all the lint inside the appliance, and it did work but for only 3 days.

I know this part of FixYa is frustrating, because none of the people who see your question get to see your comments, or anybody else's solution or comments.
It sounds like your drum support slides have worn, causing excessive drag on the drum as it turns. There are different parts used on various models. I'd have to guess, as you do not list a model number. A common type for Frigidaire is a strip of felt with three thin plastic rectangles on it which the front of the drum glides on at the top front of the dryer. When the plastic wears through, the drum drags on the felt, giving the symptoms you list. The strip of felt with the plastic rectangles can be replaced, and comes with a tube of high temp glue.

Frigidaire AEQ8700FGO dryer will run (and heat) for about 30 to 60 seconds then stop. 3 lights above start button will flash rapidly. Depressing cancel and start buttons at same time will not work for...

follow this steps and fix it. God bless you

The timer could be the problem. To check this, turn the timer to a timed cycle say 30 minutes or so then time it. If in 30 minutes the timer hasn't moved and the dryer is still on, the timer is faulty replace it If in 30 minutes the dryer is off, the heating element is your problem

Heating Element
This is the most likely cause for some dryers timer not advancing. Some dryers have two heating elements and if one goes out the timer will not advance if you use it on an automatic cycle but you will still feel heat inside the tub. Replace it

My dryer is not working when I turn to knob to to turn it on it just mums

It will require taking the back off the dryer. Examine the belt and drive motor. The motor could be frozen up ( Mechanically bound ) due to bearing failure. The Belt could be off or broken. While in there, take a vaccuum and clean out all the lint you'll find there. Maybe even some pocket change to boot.

I have a frigidaire dryer model#FEQB2152FEO. A big white plastic piece broke off around the inside front. It looks white and circular and it seems like it was maybe a seal or ring around the drum?

did you ever get a solution for your problem with your dryer? i have same frigidaire dryer model number and the plastic ring on the front inside just broke off in mine last week and im not sure what to do to fix it.

My Frigidaire AEQ6700FS electric dryer starts normally but only runs for about 30 seconds, then stops. The lights and display stay on, and the 3 lights at the far right blink all at once. There is no error...

try the timed dry setting there may be a problem with the moisture sensor bar.
you should also check the thermal fuses inside the dryer.there maybe one that is weak or bad

Frigidaire Stove clock resets to 12:00 when igniters turned on

local contractor came back. Said 6 other people have reported the problem according to Frigidaire.  Wasn't home so I don't know exactly what they did but they claimed to have moved some wires around.  So far no problems.  Electrical engineering friend said that they likely swapped some ground connections around so that when the ignitor draws current it doesn't drop the voltage of the whole system.  Not sure if a homeowner could troubleshoot and solve this one without directions from manufacturer.
