I'm sorry but with the description that you have given it seems that your motherboard has gone bad.

Since motherboards can get expensive as well as the labor charge for replacement you may want to consider purchasing a new computer.

If you want i might be able to retrieve any important data on the hard drive that's in the machine and back it up onto DVD's. This way when you get a new computer all you have to do is transfer the files on there from the DVD's.

Hi

Remove the battery but leave the ac adapter power cord in if it still doesn't start

you have to eliminate the ac adapter power cord

try a different adapter power cord

Dear frnd,
Probably its battery problem but before change the battery you have confirm first its battery or Adopter problem. you need do first check the adopter to another laptop which has same charging pin . if its doesn't work with another laptop then you change the adopter but if the charger works with other laptop then you need to change your battery. try it..

Acer 5733 will not turn on

No solution, mine does the same exact thing but blinks orange five times. I got an error message that said click to fix it. I did it and the computer tried to reset itself but simply died. With brick cord out...nothing happens. Same with battery same with power cord in. The battery was fine. It may have died during a forced windows update. I hope someone comes along otherwise it's "buy a mobo" and buy a battery and so on....

How can I tell if my battery is dead in my hp 6910p? I tried taking it out and then using just the power cord and I get nothing. When the battery is in and I turn on the power button I get an orange...

If nothing happens when you plug in your laptop, battery removed, you have a potentailly bad power adapter or DC power jack. Most likely it is the power adapter which is relatively inexpensive to replace (about $10). Click HERE to go to a listing of adapters for your model.

Power is going to laptop but it will not turn on. Was just using it w/out power cord. Plugged power cord in and it won't turn on. Tried, Alt, ctl, delete but nothing...:(

Try switching the outlets that you're using the power your laptop. You may have a faulty outlet which could be why it isn't giving off any power to the power cord. Next, try unplugging your power cord, then taking out the battery, plugging back in the power cord and turning your laptop back on. If the laptop turns on, the problem may be with your laptop's battery. If the laptop still doesn't turn back on, put the battery back into your laptop, and see if it works. If it still doesn't work, try taking it to a place like Geek Squad in Best Buy.

Hope this helps!

Try a different power cord. That may be the problem or the power jack where the cord goes into the laptop.

My toshiba laptop won't turn on!

Place the battery back in and the power cord. Follow the power cord all the way to the plug and verify nothing was unplugged by accident. (the box on the plug sometimes disconnects without the user knowing it) This could have caused your lack of power. Hope this helps.

Acer AL1916 can't start

If you press the power button and nothing comes on at all then something isn't providing power to the laptop as it should and you may likely need to replace the battery or the power cord.

Find a replacement battery. Change your battery with a new one then plug it up and turn on to see if this works.

If replacing the battery doesn't work then replace the power cord and trying turning it on again. If this doesn't work either, you have a more serious issue going on.

Not too long ago, I was on vacation, my laptop had been working fine until suddenly it wouldn't come on at all. I went into the office to grab a new battery and power cord. (I work on computers so I had spare parts in my office/Tech Room.)

I got home and replaced the battery then tried to turn it on using the old power cord...didn't work. This was a brand new battery so now I knew that I could rule out the battery as the issue...the only two things left to troubleshoot were the power cord and the laptop itself.

I put my old battery back in the laptop then tried to turn it on using a different power cord and it worked. I didn't need to replace my battery or laptop. The power cord had failed.

I hope that your issue is as simple as this solution. Try confirming whether your battery and power cord are still working...you may just need to replace one or the other.

Thanks for using Fixya.
