If the PSU is good and there is no lights coming on when you either plug in the charger or attempt to turn on the machine then it's simply the motherboard.

There is a good chance that a few transistors blew out. Laptop repair or even motherboard replacement is very expensive. If the computer is still under warranty then take advantage of the product defect and get it repaired or replaced.

My computer wont charge. i think the internal power supply of the pc is broken.

When you connect the power adapter into the laptop, does the power LED light up? If not then - The battery adapter or the adapter's power lead or the laptop's power socket could be faulty. Check power adapter's DC plug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltage should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the bottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that is printed on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced. If the adapter is OK then connect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/battery charging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's power socket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position this LED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a dry solder joint where it is connected to the motherboard. This can be repaired but it requires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket and repair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.

My sony vaio vgn-nw320f was totally dead.i had pulled up the battery cause it could not log off.please help me.....

Most sony laptop power supplies have a power LED that indicates if the device is A) plugged in {ok it happens!}, or B) fried and not providing power to the laptop. Check this first. If the power supply is plugged in and the LED is on (usually green or red) then see if you have ANY lights on the laptop itself. Its possible that your LCD display went bad but that the laptop is otherwise running. You may see a power, hard drive or wireless network light on if the laptop works but the LCD went bad. You can also connect an external monitor to the laptop and power it up to check the LCD.
I've also seen where the battery goes bad and it keeps the laptop from booting. Try removing the battery and power up (with the ac adapter plugged in) again.
If neither of these helps, you may be looking at some kind of internal short on the motherboard which is big money. Hopefully that isn't the case.
Hope this helps!!

Sony Vaio VGN SZ491N doesn't start or boot. No lights no noises. Tried holding start button 10 seconds, tested power supplies (OK on other machines), been having a problem with the battery being loose...

1. Take the battery out of the laptop & try to turn on the laptop using power adapter only.
2. Make sure the power adapter is not defective. Test the output voltage of the power adapter using a voltmeter. Compare the voltmeter reading to the nominal value written on the adapter or the laptop.
3. The DC jack might be loose or broken. It might need to be either re-soldered or replaced.
4. If you have another processor which is compatible with your laptop's model, try swapping processors & test to see if the laptop will work.
5. The power button could be bad
.
6. The motherboard could be defective & needs to be replaced.

Vgn-n365e will not power up, no lights no noise, how do i test

Need a known good battery and known good charger.
May use a multimeter to test battery voltage outside of the computer (when it's not connected to the computer) and also voltage of the charger when it's not hooked to the computer but is plugged into the wall.

Sony VGN-N130G dead with 03 LED lights on

if you see nothing on the screen when you try to boot up, then it is not posting.
(power on self test)
so its a hardware problem.

the only suggestions i can give you is to :
  1. remove the memory from the back of the laptop, and if you have more than one stick ,swap them around as you may have a bad one,
  2. you will have to remove one or more screws to do that.
  3. also make sure the battery is seated correctly and you have the power cord connected and turned on.
  4. if you only have one stick of ram,and can't beg borrow or steel one from your mates,
  5. take ram to your local pc shop and ask them to check it for you.
  6. if the ram is ok return to that shop with laptop to have them check it out for you.
  7. as it could be many things that has caused this problem.
good luck

LED power protection light not turning on

Check the fuse on the amplifier; if it's good, then you need a multimeter or voltmeter for further testing. With the meter's black probe on your amp's ground terminal and the radio turned on, both the power and the remote terminals should test at about 12 volts. If neither terminal shows voltage, you may have a problem with your ground connection; if both do, there's a problem with the amp.
