Does the fan still spin when it does power on? The protective measure of the board is that when the chip is too hot it will still power on but only for a second, then it will turn off with a beeping sound. If you suspect that the chip is too hot you might want to measure the temp. One other thing you could do is to reseat the Heat Sink and Fan assembly and make sure there is ample thermal paste.

Benq sp 840 the temp led is on. What to do?

Hello, when temp led is on it is a way to protect the unit from overheating, Inside the PJ there are several fans (usually3-4) to cool down the temp of the power board, lamp , dlp chip etc. First do visual inspection of outer visible fans , maybe some are stuck. Then you can try using vacuum cleaner to clear the dust inside. If this don't help deeper cleaning is needed with opening the unit. If yuo are not familiar with electronics and due to risk of electric shock, please do not open the unit by yourself, and visit proper service center.
Of course upper suggestion is only the one of common cause for described problem.
Hope this helps.

McQuay PTAC stops working after short time

Sounds like you need a new control board with thermistors. you probably have a relay that is getting hot and quitting.

VAUXHALL MERIVA COOLING FAN

Change the relay, situated in a black plastic box up in front of the battery. Costs about 7 pounds / 11 dollars USD on ebay and takes 30 seconds to do. Until you get it fixed, protect the engine when temp get over, say, 90 degrees celcius, by opening up your side dash vents, turn the in-car fan on max and the temp up to max. The hot air will go directly out the windows and you will see the temp gauge drop back to about 80 degrees. I did this for a year until I figured out the relay needed replacing.

Radiator fan not stopping even when i turn off the car and remove the keys. this is leading to battery drain

Radiator fan is supposed to start working after the temp reaches a certain limit. And it is supposed to run til the temp reaches a certain lower limit. So when you switch off the engine and walk off the fans must be running to cool the water to that lower limit. Unless you seen that it runs well past that and does not stop at all. Does it start running when you start the engine? And runs throughout the time the car is running, which it should not. The relay seems to be out. It is this relay that controls the running of the fan. or the temp gauge. If the temp gauge is giving wrong temp then the relay has to keep working. Please check both, the relay and before that the temp gauge.

Heater is blowing cold air

Check the fan switch on thermostat, set to auto. Check control board for error code. Sounds like an over temp. on the unit, it will blow the fan until the unit is cool or there is a problem with either the hi limit switch or control board failure. If the board fails they default to run the blower continuosly.

My projector is making loud buzzing noises that arent normal.. I just ceiling mounted my projector its an InFocus ScreenPlay 4805 and the bulb has 1500 hours on it. The buzz started after it was on for 30...

If this sound you are describing is NOT constant and is intermittent in nature it is certainly not a color wheel problem. This sound is usually caused by failure of the Lamp cooling fan (the large one)'s Mos-Fet driver chip. Located on the bottom of the main board. These surface mount "chips" do fail and it's a fairly common problem however this is usually (but not always) accompanied by the projector shutting itself down after a few minuets or so as the high temp switch trips off. A color wheel common failure presents in two ways, either all the glass color filters fly off (there are six) and the image is monochrome (black and white) or just one or more of the segments has come off and the result is an imbalance of the color wheel which spins VERY fast resulting in a vibration
that is constant and can easily be felt by placing your hand on the projector. And all of these problems are very easy to repair.

Good Luck!

Microwave lost power in the middle of heating a lunch. Later power came on with PF in the display. Is this normal?

it seems the thetmal cutoff(TCO) mounted on the magnetron to protect it from overheating is going off.it opens out when magnetron overheats and cuts the power to the control board and after the magnetron cools down tco resets and power to control board is restored with the sign PF(power failure).the fan that cools the magnetron may have gone bad.i think u will need a tech 2 chk it out.
