Hi, click on the "Start Button," in the (right pane) Control Panel, next in the category listings, select Hardware and Sound, open, and click on the "Manage Sound Devices." The Sound window will open; click on the "Playback" button, there should be a Speakers Icon, click on it, look below to find the "Properties button, click to open the next window. In the next window there will be (4) four buttons "General, Level... First click on the "General" button, in the top of the window there will be a "Driver" button, click on that button to open. Select to "Update Driver," just click on it, the Drivers will be updated for you. Next you can go back and press the other areas, Speaker Level etc... Next if you have a "MIC" do the same for the Microphone as you done for [Speakers] in the [Recording] category. Note: "Remember to click on the "Apply and OK buttons afterward to make sure the changes take effect. "Restart the computer to finalize the changes." "Rate the solution on it helpfulness, its away of letting me know if you resolved the the problem or you need further assistance, thank you."

If you have Windows 7 Starter then you are limited on changing the background.

How to fix and install the built in microphone of my P-78What's your problem?

LOL, Windows 7 is like it's predecessor Vista. Same people wrote it.

Have you made sure you have the mic's volume turned up? Have you selected the mic in the Audio and Sound properties?

Look at the Audio and Sound properties in the Control Panel and make sure everything is ok. The Mic has to be selected as a Recording Device.

Hello, i have microfone problems on GA-EX58-UD5 It all started on Win Vista 64 with Logitech Digital precision. I always thougth they sucked cause mic never worked like it should. Problems were mostly...

Looking at the Logitech website at the link below this is a classic example of a Windows 7 Driver not being available.

http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2193/section/troubleshoot/crid/438/lt_product_id/2986/tabs/1,3,2,5/cl/us,en/kw/

You could try downloading the latest Audio Driver for your GA-EX58-UD5 Mainboard from the link below by selecting your operating system, but I think as long as you're running Windows 7 these problems will just continue until they get their act together and start poducing the required drivers.

It sounds like a driver or hardware incompatability issue. Go to the Toshiba web site and see if they have updated Windows 7 drivers or other support for your system first.

Second, you may be able to get the mic to work using the Windows 7 compatability mode which mimics Windows XP.

My logitech desktop mic is not working. I have Vista.

Check the sound setup in Windows, could be your default recording device is not configured properly.
Here is an article on Windows Vista, but most applies similarly to Windows 7 and even XP.

Headset Problem Rosetta Stone

I found the answer. Rosetta Stone has a problem detecting the mics if the speaker input is not in someway connected to the mic. I'm not exactly sure how it works, but I don't care and neither should you.

Follow these steps each time you want to use it and you should be fine.
*I'm on Vista, but this should work for every one.
1. Open Control Panel
2. Open Hardware and Sound
3.Open Sound
4.Set Line 1 as your Default Speaker
5. Refresh the Mic list
*All of your mics should now show up.
6. In Rosetta Stone, apply the mic you want and finish the setup.
7.Start whatever language you're using and switch back to the Sound menu.
8.Set whatever speaker you want to use as default.
*Rosetta Stone will continue to work fine until you close it, switch Users, or remove the mic.

In short you have to set the default speaker to LINE 1 to get the mics to appear. Then when you apply the settings switch the default speaker back.
