Lexmark wireless printer 1400 series prints blank pages

Try to re-seat the cartridges in the printer. Open the printer cover > remove the cartridges > close the printer cover > re-brick you printer by pulling out the power supply - black box behind the printer where the power cord is plugged in, and re-plug after 10 seconds. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and close the cover. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

If that doesn't help, the problem could be due to a clogged print cartridge nozzle. Please follow the steps below to fix print quality issues with your model:

  1. On your computer, go to Start menu.
  2. Go to Programs.
  3. Go to Lexmark Z1400 Series folder.
  4. Select Lexmark Solution Center.

From the Maintenance tab, select Clean to fix horizontal streaks. Your printer will then print a page forcing ink through to clean the print cartridge nozzles.

After printing the test page, try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Have installed new ink cartridge. still getting low inw warning

Hi there,

The low ink cartridge warning is nothing to worry about. If it prints, it prints. Most modern printer cartridges have a chip on it which lets the printer know when the ink is low. When you run low on ink, it sends a message to the printer which sends a message to the computer telling you to refill the ink. The problem is that it doesn't go away once you refill the ink. It still prints, you just get a notification whenever you want to print. You can still use it up until that new cartridge runs out of ink. :)

Acts like it is printing but does not apply ink has new cartridge and goes though the motions of printing but does not seem to be getting the ink spit signal to the cartridge.

I would try another cartridge especially if it is a refilled one. I don't think there is one "ink spit" signal, rather several so one would not stop it. In any case, probably not the printer but the cartridge that is failing. The refilled cartridges somehow bypass the ink available signal from the cartridge and the printer thinks everything is ok, sending firing signals to an empty cartridge. That's why I try another or try this one in another printer, if possible. If it is something wrong in the printer, a new printer is cheaper than the repair would be.

try this:
  1. Start with printer off
  2. Press and hold resume Button (triangle in the circle) and click “Power” button. green led should be on
  3. hold the Power button, release Resume Button.
  4. Without releasing the Power Button, double click “Resume” button and then release Both Buttons.
  5. Click “Resume” for four times then click “Power” button, to confirm the selected action (reset counter absorber).
  6. Turn off the printer and turn on again

Refilled ink cartridge now having trouble printing

Most of these new cartridges have what is called a "smart chip" which sends a signal when its low, and most times re-filling them won't reset it. there are resetting software tools available depending upon the cartridge number. Good Luck

Printer thinks cartridges empty

Unplug your printer from the computer and then the power supply. Remove the inks from the printer. Plug the printer back into the computer first then connect the power supply. Install the inks "very slowly" one by one and then check the levels, they should now read full. Thank you, Dana

Wont print after connecting to a new computer

Hi,
If your printer isn't printing and it's a new printer you've just taken it out of the box, first of all, look if it's plugged into the computer. If the printer is plugged into the computer, the next thing to check is if it's got power - is it plugged into a power outlet? If those things are plugged in, check if the software is loaded so that your computer can recognize the printer. If the printer still doesn't work, call the manufacturer or take it back to the store and switch it out. If it's an old printer, look to see if there's still ink in there. If the lights are flashing and it's telling you to replace the ink, that's what you have to do. If there's still ink left in the printer and it's not printing, chances are it's time to get a new printer.
Thanks for contacting Fixya.com

When I print blue horizontal lines appear or being printed as wel

Do the cartridges ride on the printing carriage, or do they plug in somewhere else in the machine and have hoses that run the ink to the print head? If they ride on the printing carriage and the cartridge is new, there could be a short in the printer and it needs repair. Check if there's ink smeared on the print head or part of the printer. Generously clean the print heads with lots of paper towels and rubbing alcohol. If that doesn't work, to see if it's an issue with computer, print a test page from the printer, but don't send the print job from the computer. You need a print job generated from inside the printer itself. Not every printer can do this, but try pressing paper feed, holding down paper feed and power, or holding down cancel and power. If the blue lines disappear then but they didn't when you cleaned the heads, it's a software issue.

PRINTER READY , BUT WONT PRINT

Try unplugging the printer (both the power and the USB cable), plugging the power and USB cable back in, and restarting the computer. Sometimes this solves the problem.
