Question about Weber Q Grill

1 Answer

Won't light properly or vary the flame

Took the BBQ to a Weber service shop and it worked perfectly for them!! They said to let the gas run on low pressure for 30 secs before cranking up the gas flow and trying to light it. I have tried everything. New tank, new hose, regulator worked perfectly in the service shop... get it home, hook it up and it spits and sputters with a very low flame and no amount of wiggling and jiggling makes any difference. I'm about ready to put it in the bin!

I can hear gas flowing on the 'start' section but it seems to stop almost immediately...

Hello,
You're probably turning the LP tank valve on too fast. Close the tank valve, disconnect it and reconnect it. Then very slowly turn on the tank valve. Make sure all your grill knobs are closed. Light one at a time and turn to low setting. After they are all lit, slowly turn up the heat on each as needed. Hope this helps. Douglas

turn off gas at tank remove hose let it deforst , open all burners on bbq run out gas in line , turn off burners, reconnect tank turn on slow , check hose for leaks with washing up liqued and water mix make bubbles with this mix and brush over joints this will prove if you have a gas leak (hence the frosting ) if this is good no leak then you should be able to light burners , if this leaks then it could be a new hose.

Weber Silver BBQ has 3 burners only 1 has normal flame.

you may have to remove the burners and clean the inside of them. they could have insect webs inside preventing the flow of gas. hope this helps. also, try opening the tank really slowly.

Weber gas grill will not ignite

you will probably have to get a new igniter or try to adjust the one you have. there is a little electrode on the igniter that needs to be clean and a certain distance away to work properly.

Weber gas bbq

Hello stevie66, disconnect the gas tank, carefully remove the burner element (the thing with the small holes) and soak it in a bowl of vinegar overnight. Remove and shack the excess out, remount and connect the gas. Open the gas line about 1/4 turn and CAREFULLY LIGHT. Please E-Mail the results. Thank you.

My weber Baby Q grill has a low flame.

Agree with rjmbridge. I called the Weber support people and was told that there is a built in safety feature on the regulator that will cause the flame to burn at a low setting if the gas within the extension tube to the large tank and regulator is not allowed enough time to equalize. They suggested turning on the gas from the tank very slowly, allow about 2 minutes with the temperature control knob turned off, then turn the temp knob on and light. This worked for me.
