You could have several problems but the first thing to do would be to check the door switch. Most of the time you can use a small screwdriver to push the switch in and out. you should hear a click when you do this if the switch is good. you can also use an ohm meter to check the switch if you know how to use one.

another culprit is the thermal fuse located on the back of the machine. you must remove the rear panel. it is usually a small white object with 2 wires attached to it. if for any reason the machine over heats this thermal fuse will shut the dryer down. it is not resetable and must be replaced if no continuity flows through it. if it is bad usually something caused it such as a stopped up vent , crimped hose or possibly a thermostat failure. check these items and clean out the lint on the outside of your house vent as well. don't use plastic vent hose and don't try to push the dryer up too close to the wall causing the vent to partially collapse.

You can go to www.appliancepartspros.com type in your model number and you will find all the parts you need cheap. When replacing the thermal fuse they are going to suggest replacing the high limit thermostat also, the parts with shipping will be less than $25 so its a good idea to replace both.

Have an electrician check all the connections, the load from the welder probably overloaded a connection.

Kitchen aid dryer Partial drying the cloth

First you should make sure the exhaust vent and ducting and lint trap is not clogged or restricted, birds/insect nests, or lint build up. If the dryer is heating up it is most likely an airflow issue.

My dryer just won't start when I press the start

The electrical breaker may not be turned on. Check the homes main electrical breaker panel and ensure the breaker marked Dryer is in the on position. If this does not work, you may need to call someone in to take a look at the dryer.

Kitchen Aid Electric Dryer Model # KEYE678BALO, won't start.

This is most often caused by a bad thermal fuse or thermostat high limit cutout. Check them for continuity (with the machine unplugged, of course) They should have continuity -- replace them if open. They should be available at www.appliancepartspros.com Also, if one or both are bad, check the dryer vent as they often are damaged by high heat due to a restricted vent pipe. The website above also has diagrams to help find the parts on the machine.

Trying to locate heating element on kitchen aid dryer

Do you have the part number, is so Put in (Find kitchen aid dryer Part# 111111* ) Or( Find kitchen aid dryer heating element* ). If this is a old dryer some parts are not made anymore. Any Dryer over 7 years old is no longer energy efficient. Hope This Helps.

Kitchen-Aid Dryer has power to dryer , door switch is working ,and inside light is working but dryer will not start.

Check for a blown thermal fuse. It's about an inch long and is inside the rear of the dryer, usually attached to or near the exhaust duct. It can be tested using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Check for continuity. A lack of continuity indicates a blown thermal fuse. Hope this helped and best wishes.
