I have just installed my webcam can i use the disc for my old webcam as that one is better

If you already installed the software for the new webcam and it is compatible with the old one then all you need to do is plug it in and it should work if it does not work then the software and drivers from your disc probably are not compatible. But If you Tell us what Brand and what Model Number your old one is we can most likly find softwar and drivers to work for it also what operating system you are using.

Thumbs Up if helpful, Feedback is appreciated!!!
Good Luck!!!

Installing my webcam without cd.

Try the Creative Support Page, http://support.creative.com/ . Pick the product type and on the next page select your model. Drivers are listed partway down the individual model page (go all the way down if you want to select your OS).

The direct link to the Webcam Live! Ultra is:
http://support.creative.com/Products/ProductDetails.aspx?catID=218&CatName=Web+Cameras&subCatID=847&subCatName=WebCam+Series&prodID=10451&prodName=WebCam+Live!+Ultra&bTopTwenty=1&VARSET=prodfaq:PRODFAQ_10451,VARSET=CategoryID:218

I hope this helps.

Webcam driver

If you have it still installed on your old computer and still have that computer you may be able to tell what brand and model it is from there. If it's a USB webcam you might need to plug it into the old computer for this.

In the Mac OS your webcam would probably show up on your computer's desktop as it's own icon and tell you what brand it is and possibly model as well.

If you're working in Windows, you should be able to view it from your device manager. Let me know if you're working on a Mac or other OS and need instructions on how to look at the webcam's properties in there. There also may be associated software installed on your old computer that says the brand name and/or model to give you clues.

Often in Windows webcams have software that runs automatically when the computer's on and it's plugged in (sometimes even when it's not plugged in) that also makes a little icon (picture) in the bottom right of a Windows screen, by the time. Hovering over the icons that look like your webcam should allow you to pick the correct one to open and identify what webcam you have.

If you don't still have it installed or don't have access to your old computer, you may be able to recognize it on common webcam sites. Logitech makes popular webcams & their site has pics of their different models so you can get the correct download here: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/support_downloads/downloads/webcams/&cl=us,en

All this is assuming that you tried plugging it in already. If you haven't tried it, you might want to as OS's often come pre-loaded with various device drivers.

Hope that helps! :)
