Question about Printers & Copiers

1 Answer

This is hard to describe but will try. I was able to print day before yesterday, got up yesterday and could not get it to print at all. I removed the printer software, hoping to solve the problem and ran it again.Still no luck. All connections are like they should be, this A.M. I can print from an e-mail, but will not print from a site I am trying to print from. I was able to print from this same site 2 days ago. Probably some little thing I am missing, sorry!

Go to start menu/programs/accessories/system tools / system restore, and do a system restore to over one week ago, when the printer was working. This may solve the problem.

You can try to disassemble the printhead and check for contamination.
First remove cap 1

than using a small flat screwdriver disassemble printhead (engagement points 2 and 3)

Warning - a printhead is filled with 8 ml ink

After disassembly - clean the printhead with fluid compatible with pigment ink (for black color) or compatible with water based ink (color printheads)

during reassembly - don't forget to fill the printhead with ink (2/3 of its volume)

X75 My color won't work. Black is fine. I installed a new one at Xmas and it worked fine. I hardly printed anything.. Yesterday the test page with peacock showed no blue and everything came out yellow. ...

run the print head cleaner tool using the lexmark software. since you hardly used the color the print head nozzle is dried up and needs to be clean.
run the print head cleaner atleast 5-10 or more times as needed.

Hi!
Try another USB cable or USB port. Its the data processing that is taking than usual when printing.
Hope this helps.

Printer queue

I have seen things similar to what you describe. Most likely it is due to a PC setting that retains jobs in the queue. Conceivably, if you have a hard drive in the printer, it is a setting that may be corrected by logging in to the printer's IP address. I have not ever seen it caused by the printer, alone.

We have the same problem. I removed the cartridges, then removed the print head. There was lots of ink gunk on the print head. I cleaned it and the problem disappeared completely for a few days but is now back. I suspect the print head needs to be replaced. Still working on it.
