Question about Dell Latitude 100L Notebook
If you're talking about an external monitor to connect to your Dell, try to toggle the display by pressing Fn+F8 keys both at the same time to send the video to the external monitor.
Now, if you're talking about the lcd screen on your notebook, try running the dell diagnostics by pressing F12 upon seeing the Dell logo when you start the machine. select boot to utility partition and press enter. Diagnostics will run and test your system. There's a portion there that tests the lcd screen. It should give out a report that the system is okay.
Good luck! ^_^
