Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. When the dryer wont dry clothes it is usually caused due to three things: Mainly the Thermal Fuse, Wiring Harness and/or Heating Element. Start with checking the Thermal Fuse which is mounted inside the back cover panel to the exhaust duct and is mounted in white plastic housing. If that’s fine then the Heating Element should be checked. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

My dryer not heatin up and dryin clothes hotpoint aquarius CTD00

Common faults -
1 The heating elements can fail (meaning open circuit)
2 There are cut-outs (T.O.C's) that might need resetting
3 The thermostats (stats) can trip out or burn out (meaning open circuit)
4 Modern tumble dryers also have sensors and pcb's (Printed circuit boards) these have programs that can fail and circuitry although most should produce an error code showing you were the fault is.
5 Faulty connections and burned wires may also be the fault.

The dryer is not dryer the cloths. I think the lint filter is clogged

Your lint fllter should be readily accessible and should be cleaned before each cycle. If this has been building up for a whle, I highly recommend cleaning the interior of the dryer. This requires removing the front panel and vacuuming the lint out of the machine.
Be careful not to touch any of the heating elements with the vac.
Also it is a good idea to clean the exhaust vent periodically. Detach the flex connection from the machine and check that it's not plugged as well. Hope this gets things dryin' again.
Let us know if you need further details.

Doesn't Dry Thoroughly

if you have not already you need to clean out your vent hose. if you have a bunch of lint build up in the hose or in the blower wheel of the dryer it won't move air through the dryer that needed to dry.

Takes a long time to dry clothes

You might want to clean out the exhaust hose where it goes thru the house. Also vacuum inside the unit to if you havent done so already. Let me know if this helped

Dryer not dryin well

Check the lint catcher. Efven though you may have taken out lint it could still be clogged. Take it out and run under water. If water starts to collect then you have an invisble layer that comes from fabric softner. You just need to clean it out with warm water and soap. The only other thing it could be is lint has collected on the vent leading outside from your hose. Just simply remove it and you should be ok. I've had simliar problems with both scenerios.

Dryer not drying clothes

Make sure that the flex hose going out from the dryer is not blocked. You should check it from both the back of the dryer and all the way to wear it vents outside. It could also be the thermostat, which is cheaper to replace than buying a new dryer.
