Either brushes or trigger. I would check brushes first. Juraj

Blower mtor on 1997 Chevy 1/2 ton 4wd runs real slow or not at all, some times it speeds up to near normal speed.

Yes, the blower motor is bad, replace it. This is exactly what you say, brushes are worn.

Rotary hammer does nothing at all when I pull the trigger

you should only get voltage at the brushes when the trigger is pressed... is the tool constantly running or is it doing nothing?
If your getting voltage to the brushes and its doing nothing... check the brushes to see if they are worn out and not touching the armatures commutator. Replace them and the switch

I have a Suzuki Boulevard S50 and i have changed the solenoid because i thought that was the problem but it wasnt. every time i hit the switch to start the bike all the lights dim but the bike wont start

The starter button is supposed to turn off the lights during the start. The new solenoid means that is OK. That means the starter is the problem. Tap on the starter with a plastic hammer, back of a screwdriver, etc., if the starter works now you just need new starter brushes. If the armature is shorted, the end cap bearings worn, the magnets broken, etc. then you will need to replace the starter assembly. Only the brushes are available as spare parts to fix the starter.

Bike wont start press the start button and nothing happens

Follow the positive battery cable to the starter solenoid. Unplug the two small wires going to the solenoid and use a voltage meter to see if you have continuity when you press the starter button. If you do not, clean the starter button or replace the switch assembly. If you jump the two cable terminals on the solenoid and the starter cranks, you have a bad solenoid. If you hold the starter button and tap the starter with a plastic hammer and the starter works, you need new starter brushes. Any other problem with the starter and you will need to buy a new assembly.

I have two rupes sanders, one is approx 15 years old ,the other approx 5 years old, both are stopping while working or sometimes wont turn on,if I tap the sander with a hammer then they start to work or...

it can be ascertained, there is a problem in the switch or the motor carbon brush, carbon has been eroded by the rotor rotation. you have to check and replace the carbon or switch.

Back window

Hello, and welcome to FixYa. Please allow me to assist you.

All of the windows are on one circuit, which has a circuit breaker, not a fuse.

If you have one window that is not working, I would rule out a power problem.

More than likely, and, we see this quite a bit, the window motor is probably the culprit. If the window is not used often, the brushes in the motor 'seize', and the power is not transmitted to spin the motor, to raise and lower the window.

What you can try:
Using a suitable tool, like a butter-knife, insert it between the rubber where the glass meets the door, slide the knife along the length of the glass; both sides. Sometimes, the rubber seizes the glass to itself, and holds the window from moving.
Another trick is to 'unseize' the motor. With the key on, have someone press the 'down' side of the affected window switch, and, with a large plastic or rubber mallet, tap on the inside of the door panel. The tapping may just free up the brushes, and the motor may start to work. In severe cases, the door panel may need to be removed to tap on the motor itself. If either of those work, you saved the cost of a new window motor.

Please try those two ideas, and get back to me, if you need any additional assistance.

Thanks for choosing FixYa. I hope my input helps you out.

I went to try and start my bike but it wont turn on. I turned the key to the on position and the lights and everything turn on. Press in the clutch and then hit the electric start button but nothing...

Dirty starter button (bad switch). You can carefully take it apart and clean. Bad solenoid, clicks but internal contact is burnt and not transferring electricity to starter. To check, jump the two posts on top of the solenoid (one from the positive battery terminal and the other goes to the positive battery terminal) or touch the cables together, this should make the starter work. If starter turns the solenoid is bad . If not you have a bad starter. Try replacing brush's. If brush's are marginal you can hold the starter button and gently tap the starter with a plastic hammer . If starter works then bad brush's. If the armature is bad You will have to buy a whole starter.

Dyson DC 24 pick up head wont spin

- Look for the reset button on the side of the brushbar housing - there should be a red sticker and a red button. Push it once. It's
not gonna stay depressed, it's gonna pop right out - that's normal.
- Step on the red pedal on the back
- Turn the machine on with the red power button
- Press the gray button next to the red power button - this is the ON/OFF switch for the brushbar - if it doesn't spin, press and hold the gray button down for 10 seconds
- If it still isn't spinning, remove the brushbar and make sure nothing is blocking it and withholding it from spinning
- For further troubleshooting assistance call the Dyson helpline, they know what they're doing
