When the mower is set to it's lowest cutting position the bar that connects the two rear wheels hangs up on any small bump and wheel drive cannot pull over it. Any way to get rid of this bar or lower blade????

How to lower lawn mower

Cindy, if it's already at the lowest setting, you kinda / sorta answered your own question, i.e. it can't be adjusted any lower; but, as you may be aware, there is an adjuster at every wheel, and by putting all wheels at the same - lower - level, you will get a lower, mowing height; and if you've already done that, or there are no 'individual adjusters', they wheels are typically bolted to the frame and there are usually several holes to bolt the wheel to - simply un-bolt and re-bolt to achieve the lowest, preferred height.

Need to replace flap on cmm1200

1. Push the mower down to its lowest mowing position.
2. Turn it up on its right side, so the left side is in the air.
3. The existing flap is held in place with a glob of glue at the left (now top) end. Remove the glue by whatever means you like. I "chiseled" at it with taps from a flap-blade screwdriver and hammer.
4. Now you can slide the remnants of the old flap out and slide the new one in. You'll have to bend it slightly even with the mower in its lowest position to get it past the wheel, but it shouldn't be close to breaking.
5. Replace the glob of glue with whatever you have handy that plays well with plastic and rubber. By coincidence I already had DAP Alex Ultra 230 Black loaded in my caulk gun - worked fine.

Front wheels on manual mower lock when pushing for awhile.

1 Locate the height adjustment lever on the inside of the left rear wheel.
2 Kneel next to the mower and push the left height adjustment lever toward the center of the mower. This will unlock the lever from the locking pin on which the height is currently set.

3Rotate the lever toward the front of the mower to lower the height of cut, or toward the rear of the mower to raise the height of cut.

4 Release the lever over the locking pin closest to the desired height of cut.

5 Repeat these steps with the adjustment lever on the right-side rear wheel. Be sure to set the right wheel lever to the same position as the left-side wheel's lever for an even cut.

Black and decker 18 inch flip over handle electric lawn mower cat #8019 don't know how to adjust height it is cutting way too low

There is no height lever on this simple mower. To change the height of cut, the wheels themselves must be moved up or down. First, unplug the mower. Turn it over on its side. You'll see that the wheels attach to the frame with simple bolts, and that there are two open holes at each wheel (three holes at different heights altogether, but one of the holes is occupied by the current mounting height of the wheels). Undo each bolt for all four wheels and move them to a new position. Note that the wheel-mounting holes are drilled 5/8-inch apart from each other. If you want to add another hole there is room on the sheet metal to make a new hole for each wheel, and this would put the mower body and blade very high off the ground, if used. You can make that new hole for each wheel with your electric drill. But I think your mower is probably set to the lowest of the three holes, so see first if moving the wheels 5/8-inch higher is better for your lawn, and, if not, then use the 1 1/4-inch higher set of holes on all four wheels. Make sure to move each wheel to the same height hole! Good luck, be safe. --Joe, Tucson, AZ

I'm having problem with my Toyota AE100 which when I drive, the rear suspension sounds like 'klak..klak'. For your info, I'm using a GAB adjustable suspension with 17 inch wheels. I'm trying to get rid of...

first of all, since you are using adjustable suspension you should make sure the spring is captive in the shock absorber. Lift the rear of the vehicle and support the car on the body, allowing the rear wheels to hang down. See if the spring can easily be moved. If it can. then likely the spring has sagged, or it is incorrect for the shock absorber. If not, while you are there check that the top hat of the strut is tight by lifting the wheel and strut assembly by hand. If you get any movement in the top of the strut, there will be a loud noise while going over bumps. Another area to check are the stabiliser arm/sway bar bushes. Mounted to the body you will see a bar that goes left to right, connecting to the struts with small link arms. Try to move this bar up and down against the body, paying attention to the rubber bushes where it meets the body. If there is movement in the bushes, there will be banging sounds when going over rough surfaces or bumps. Also check the small link arms for looseness or play.

How do you adjust brakes on a 30 inch murray, model 30550A lawn tractor.

Sit on mower find the right rear wheel, put your mowers deck in the lowest position.
look under the mower between the rear of the deck and right rear wheel you will see the transmission and a small disc (looks like a small brake rotor) there is a nut on the outside of that disc and or close to that disc 9/16 or 1/2 inch standard wrench size, turning that nut clockwise tightens the brakes ccw loosens.

Install belt on toro mower model 70041

For removing/replacing the deck belt, the general method is:
  1. turn off engine, remove key and set parking brake
  2. disengage blade by putting blade engage lever into off (disengaged) position
  3. lower the cutting deck to the lowest position (closest to the ground)
  4. relieve the belt tension (depending on the model, use a 3/8 inch ratchet set to tighten in the square hole of the idler bracket)
  5. remove and replace the belt
NOTE: it's not necessary to completely remove the cutting deck.

For deck belt diagrams, http://216.213.143.2/ProAuthor/ManProc.cfm?ManualID=425&ProcID=14796

If the transmission drive belt needs to be replaced, several components must be removed and special tools (i.e. air/impact wrench) used in order to change the tractor's transmission drive belt. See an Authorized Toro Service Dealer to have your drive belt replaced.
