That message has everything to do with a back-up camera. Ensure you have not connected the reverse wire to a source if you aren't using a camera. Some cameras are reversed so that's why you are getting that message. As far as the DVD goes, the emergency brake wire (lt. green) needs to go to the e-brake wire on the vehicle. You cannot just ground the brake wire because most Pioneer video units have another method of preventing you from watching a movie while in motion. Maybe you have confused the reverse wire for the brake wire? Youtube has videos on how to do a video bypass...

Also see if you have the "maps" in rear view mode, try changing that and see what happens also what the other poster said about the wires

Pioneer system says caution: screen may appear reversed? was working all day i went to walmart and it was fine then as i started my car when i was leaving this appeared with a black screen

That is the message you get when you are connected to a backup camera. When you put the car in reverse it will switch automatically if you have the reverse trigger hooked up. you can also switch to the camera while driving and use it as a rear view cam. Some backup cameras actually reverse the image while some do not. If you don't have a backup camera you need to turn that source off and it will stop appearing. I had the same unit in my car with the camera and it was great. Pioneer makes a nice camera but you can find a number of them from other makers that are just as good.

My Pioneer P5200 - The screen is black and the message reads 'Caution - Image may be reversed". Your/the suggested solution does not work for me because the screen is black and only the 'volume' and 'next...

hahahaha . sorry for laughing. pull up your menu that has the reverse cam button push it again. when you push this button it will show you a black screen your cam is not there this is why its black. it will keep going back to this screen until you push this button again(i laugh because i have a pioneer avhp4100 that does the same also contact e if needing e brake bypass).

How do i get my movies to show on my dvd/cd player in my car. say something about the brakes.

Depending on what DVD/navigation system you have, it may be wired to only play movies while the parking brake is engaged.
I have an after-market Pioneer AVIC-9DVD Nav system, and that's the "default" means of operation. My screen is in-dash. Some places can install a a bypass switch, but that ultimately introduces a safety risk.
In situations where the screens are mounted in the rear of the vehicle only, it should be okay. I'm guessing you have a factory-installed setup where the screen is in the front with the driver.

How to remove initial caution screen?

Sure, I have the same unit in my 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor. I had to re-design the entire center/radio Console to fit this unit in. As soon as the "Caution" Screen comes on, hit the play/pause button (The round belly button, button on the remote) and it will vanish, automatically. And you are right, it is a pain in the ass. I wish there was a way to permanently disable it, but i don't know if there is. If I know of anything I will let you all know. Hope this helps.
