Officejet 7310 misses lines while printing, copying, etc
Someone has just replaced the cartridges in our office printer and now it misses a half inch strip of the page in rows about 2 inch's apart all the way down a page whilst printing black and white. Have run its self test features and alignment, and also reset the machine. The cartridges are advertised to work on this machine and are from the Print-Rite Pro-Eco Series range. Was wondering if anyone had any ideas. Thanks

Turn off the unit. Disconnect the Power Cable. Open the rear access door. Clean the rubber rollers with soft dampened clean clothes. Let it dry for sometime. Turn on the unit and see if it works. If it doesn't work, your printer might have to be service.

may be the cartridge are dry or out of ink just Remove the colour cartridges and clean the nozzle with tissue paper and install it again.if the problem is solved .then ok otherwise replace the colour catridge.

Run the print align program from the HP led panel on the front of the printer. You can usually find this by scrolling through the setup screens. One will say something like ALIGNMENT.
The printer will also run this exact same program each time a new HP ink cartridge is placed in the machine. Once the lines dashes and color lines are printed out. Their should be an image of a bird at the bottom. One will look out of focus the other should be near perfect.
If this does not align the print heads the machine may need servicing.
You could try a new black ink cartridge to see if the old one is damaged or clogged.
You can download the drivers and utility software for the Officejet 7310 from HP's site here or you can run a cleaning cycle from the front panel - select setup and cycle through the choices.
It sounds like you have a defective cartridge, most common with remanufactured cartridges. If it is an HP original you can check the two year warranty as shown here. If the HP oriinal cartrdige is defective and still in its warranty period you can return it to your dealer or contact HP for a replacement. If the cartrdige is a store brand or some other remanufactured cartridge contact your delaer for a replacement.
If the color cartridge doesn't print the color bars on the alignment page (either, redish pink, yellow or blue) then the alignment process will not finish. Same for the black. If the black cartridge is printing ok, then replace the color cartridge and try this again...
