I turned off my camera (Canon powershot G9). After 2 seconds i turned it back on the lens popped out but the camera wouldnt turn on. Now the lens is still popped out, wont go back in. I tried recharging...

hi would you tell me more about condition? does it power on, do you see back of lcd any message, if power on, then you have lens unit is defective. no power at all, then you have either power control pcd(dc/dc convoertor) or main pcb. If main fail, then you have to send canon factory. but lens unit or power pcb problem can solve in your local repair shop. They would chage you around $65 to 165 depend on what they really want to charge. Thanks and best regard!

DSC-W150 SteadyShot says turn power on & off & lens pops in/out

I had the same problem with my Sony DSC-W150 camera. It turned out to have an easy fix. At the same time, press the power button and depress the shutter button halfway (the one you snap to take pics) as if you were trying to engage the autofocus without pressing the button down entirely. The lens will attempt to autofucus, which in my case was enough extra power to dislodge whatever debris/sand had clogged the lens. Hope this works for you!

Lens stuck open on Lumix DSC-TZ5

This is a common problem when something goes wrong with the lens system.
This can be as a result of numerous problems.
Try to pull the lens as turning on and also gently twisting it in and out...just may make the lens go back on track.

My lens wont extend, and it keeps telling me to turn the camera off and on again. this prevents me from taking pictures

you should have dropped your camera hard. try tapping the device while the message pops up. if it works you are lucky one, if not take it to the nearest service centre to be handled by a pro.

Lens mechanism is damaged in your camera. Does lens pops out and in your camera? If yes, try to tapp it while lens pops out.

So frustrating. Turn off and Turn on again.

There are two possible defective parts on your camera, is the lens cover will open upon power on? if yes, then lens cover motor is OK. if not its defective. Assumming, lens cover is OK, does lens assy pop-out upon power on? If not then, lens assy is defective, replace it. Thanks
