Question about Samsung BD-P1500 Blu-Ray Player
After updating the firmware (downloaded 6/5/2010 from Samsung's website) on my Samsung BluRay BD-P1500 player, it doesn't recognize any of my BlueRay discs. I put in a disc, and the front display says "Close" and the TV just shows the Samsung display and nothing happens.
I had a few problems with a few new films but i rang samsung on 08457267864 and spoke to an engineer with my problems and they sent me the new firmware free of charge on a memory stick the engineer said dont rely on the firmware on the samsung site, you will need to tell him when you bought it the model and serial no. which is found on the back of the unit if you cant find the serial no. they can get round the problem

The firmware you used may have been corrupt which would cause that kind of problem.Try downloading again and reflash the player or download from a different site
