It may need to have the refrigerant charge checked. If you have a schematic for it check and see if it has a low pressure switch. This will stop the compressor to protect it from overheating.

Compressor keeps turning off and on. Stays on for about a minute. Cycles off. Then stays off. Does recycle after a few minutes. How do I add coolant and where.

It is normal for the compressor to cycle - when a certain pressure is reached in the system, a pressure switch disengages the compressor clutch, and then activates it again when then the pressure drops below a certain point. Unless your air temperature doesn't stay relatively constant, there is no need to do anything. If it doesn't, the system may need recharging and that should only be done at a certified repair shop.

My frigidaire AC starts cooling fine but stops blowing cold air after few minutes and it does not cool at all. I haved turned it off and re-started it and it does the same thing

The compressor is being prematurely turned off. That explains why the cooling stops after a few moments. Either the thermostat is responsible or the electronics working with the therm are responsible for the anomaly.

Freon level is fine because it does cool when compressor is running. U might also want to check the start/run capacitor. That sucker starts the motor and keeps it running after the start. If the run section goes bad the motor will usually stop after it starts.

My guess is compressor motor overtemp cutout. So why is the motor overheating? Possibles: Needs bearing oil, bad bearings, compressor too much pressure, overfull with freon, mechanical friction, cooling fan not turning.

Suggest set thermostat to demand less cooling, see if compressor stays on longer.

Window air conditioner cools (very icy cool air) for a minute or two then switches to fan. Will then stay on fan for about 10 minutes and then once again get "very cold", but only for a minute or two

Before I even read that far into your post, I was thinking "thermostat" replace it...It seems to be failing badly. If you take it into logical perspective...normally the unit gets turned on, then takes a bit to get cold, then once it reaches its pre-determined temperature, turns the unit either "off" or just blows the fan...by kicking off the compressor. This unit you have is getting this cycle done within 5 minutes instead of a few hours...replace the thermo and you should be fine. Now if you could post the exact model number here I can go look up the part for you.

Compressor doesn't stay on?

It could be anything, even cleaning the grill and change or clean the air filter might help. Does it get cool or does it warm up? The most likely problem is the starter capacitor and they are easy to install and cheep too. Let me know if you want the site to buy them at, if you have a test meter let me know and I can tell you how to test it before you buy parts.
