One way is to take off the cover of the unit so that you can see where the tape is hung up and help push the tape out. (One of two problems are usually involved: the cassette cover isn't closing down evenly (a high corner blocking the travel path) or a loop of the tape blocking the cover closing.)

On my VCR unit it was ~4 screws on the back that held the cover in place. (That was VCR only. There might be a few more screws in the larger unit.)

I hope this helps.

I can't get the cassette out of my VCR devise in my Samsung VM6105, can't get it to reject the tape

if it is visible, then it is retrievable. use a pair of needle nose pliers and firmly grip cassette and very slowly and carefully try to pull it out. first try straight out, then a little more pressure to one side, then the other side, then pull from the bottom, and then from the top. you should eventually find some "play", at which time you can pull it out. it is possible that you will lose some of the tape when you retrieve it.

it may be the cassette that is faulty, or the player may be faulty. test by inserting another cassette, the least treasured one, in case the player will try to eat that one, too.

A video is stuck - how should I get it out

When this happened to me I only have to lift the cover of the VCR, and push down on the tape and it popped out. If some of the magnetic tape is stuck in the machine you might need to use a flashlight to see where to detach the tape but that should work.

Samsung v7000 DVD/VCR .....VCR ejects tape when record is pressed

Does this happen with other tapes? If so then the micro switch could be stuck in the open position, try to give it a clean with a blast of air duster first then check the contacts on the switch. If it is happening with just this specific tape the the record tab (although in place) may be "soft" try putting a piece of tape tightly across the tab & try to record.

Tape stuck in VCR

With care, it is possible to retrieve the tape. VCR housings are held on only with a half-dozen screws and once those are removed, you will be able to see the transport. If the tape itself was defective (it only takes a stretch of tape with finger oils on it) then you will see it wrapped around several things with the worst of it around the drum itself.
The transport, if its control electronics has died, can be operated by hand once you have the tape free and laying loose so that you can manually eject the tape.
If you have made it that far, you will have a cassette with a long loop of tape dangling out.
On the bottom of the cassette is a hole a little larger than a pencil in diameter and you have to use something like a pencil stuck in the hole to release the brake. Once released, you can turn the takeup reel from underneath and wind the tape back into the cassette.
Unless the VCR is totally dead, I would take another cassette, one that isn't important to you, and see if that one will load while you watch the mechanism. If it loads and can be ejected afterward, then the first cassette was at fault in the jam.
DON'T touch the surface of the video head unless you clean it throughly with a soft cloth and some window cleaner afterward.

How to retrieve a stuck tape in a VCR

Unplug the VCR, take the cover off, find the motor (probably on the right side of the mechanism) and turn it's shaft with your fingers until you have run the tape back out. Now plug it back in and try it again with a scarificial tape. If it continues to fail, replace all the rubber belts in the mechanism.
Hope ya fix it!

Tape stuck

If the tape is more important than the TV you could have it taken apart by a tv repair person.
