Question about Amana AP095R Portable Air Conditioner

1 Answer

I bought this a/c in 2007for 3 summers and it has never leaked before. It is not supposed to have to be emptied--in fact, the whole unit is screwed shut. I've had it on for about 3 hours today and it is leaking a lot of water out of bottom rear left spout--what to do?

    • hello i hope this helps if the humidty is very high and you run it long enuf the evaporation rate exceeds the condensate rate Despite what they claim -- you do have to hook up a drain to this unit. I noticed the carpet under the unit wet after continuous use of only 4 hours!! or maybe the evaporation heater is bad

Trying to replace headlight - HELP!

What may not be obvious is the fact that the WHOLE assembly gets removed, in order to replace the bulb. DO NOT touch the glass of the new bulb, or suffer really short life. There are usually 3 or 4 NON ADJUSTING screws that hold the entire assembly in place, Release those, pull the unit out and you can easily change the light.

Vs 207 light blinks that's it worked once bought used

I had same problem and the fix was simple. Over the summer the water level sensor stuck in the "empty" position so the unit thought it had no water. Remove the phillips screw holding the components in and clean them and reassemble. This solved my problem and took 30 seconds to complete

Comfort Air Dehumidifier BHD-501-1

Yes, you have a sealed system leak. Call the number in the book. I beleive that unit is manufactured by LG. You will need to have the unit diagnosed at an authorized LG repair provider. If the unit is under warranty, it will then be replaced by LG no charge, including the diagnostic. Make sure to bring in copies of the proof of purchase. The replacement unit will be shipped directly to you, and you will need to return your old unit, but shipping will be covered by LG with a pre-paid shipping label.

Water coming out from underneath bottom of unit

If this is one of those units with the leaver that starts brewing when you close the fill lid, I have the fix. What has happened is that the "tank" that holds the just added water has deteriated due to heat from the stailess steel tank that hold the hot brewing water. This tank remains hot as long as the side switch is in the "on" position. You will have to remove the (3) screws that you can see from the top of the coffee maker. (2) are under the lid where you fill water. Remove the top of unit. You will find the lever in this "tank". You will need to remove the lever to access the fitting that screw into the stainless steel tank. This is the area that has deteriated from the heat. You will also need to remove (2) screws to be able to remove this "tank" for repair. After you clean the area where the "fitting" was removers from the top of the stailess steel tank. Apply a bead of RTV silicone around this area. This can be found in automotive stores. The RTV will form a seal around this deteriated area. IMPORTANT Make sure you don;t put to much RTV on parts. You don;t want to interfere with the seal on the leaver. Replace the "tank" along with the washer & fitting. Replace the (2) screws also. Replace the leaver. Replace the top cover with the (3) screws. Let unit sit overnight to allow RTV to set. I have done this fix twice. 3 years apart. I have not been able to find this part to purchase sepratlly. I can't see paying $85 for a refurbished unit.

Fedders, the maker of the maytag dehumidifier, went bankrupt and they are not honoring the warranties. call this number and if it is still under warranty, they will send you a prorated check for the remainder of your warranty. 1-866-629-8241. we had two months to go on our warranty and they gave us $14 and change.

I have a Simplicity dehumidifier/humidifier model SHCC6026 by Danby, bought new, used 2 months last summer as a dehumidifier, was emptied and dryed before storing for the winter. On start up this summer,...

I contacted the Danby Co. and found out the unit was still under warranty. They gave me the name of a local repair shop who replaced the float sensor "free of charge".
Thank you for your time and interest. If I have another problem later I will be in touch with you.

Leaking water

I had exactly the same issue after using it for a couple of months.
I fixed it by removing the left panel (the one with the grid) (6 screws and pull the panel down).
There is a small white tray in the mid section toward the back of the unit. the top drainage hole is right there and in my case was completly blocked with wet lint.

!!! the fins of the radiator are extremely sharp...
