Turn the temperature in your freezer to the next warmer setting. Also use a blow dryer to remove the ice and the moisture. Wait two days and see if that has solved the problem. If it is still happening go one more setting warmer. Jo

The door of your refrigerator can not be closed completely so there is an air flow from outside to inside and also from inside to outside. This refrigerator uses more electric for this. The problem can only be solved by finding the hole and closing it.
This problem generally occurs because of the legs of the refrigerator.
Set the legs equally.
So you should find the problem and correct it.
Also this generally happens after cleaning.

I hope it helps.

How do i unthaw the delivery chute without breaking it?

Take everything out of your freezer and store it somewhere else (like another freezer, or cool bags with ice packs.
Leave the door open with a towel hanging over the top to prevent it from shutting. Disconnect the freezer from the mains and leave it for 48 hours to completely defrost.
The floor will get wet, so prepare for some mopping!!

What is the part called (the little flap that closes after Ice comes throught the dispencer?

it's called an "ice chute door". Look on sears.com, select "Parts Direct", another page will come up, enter your model number of your frig, then enter, wait a few then your model info will pop up, select either the freezer door or if it has "Ice & Water dispencer" select it, wait for another page to come up, then look thru diagram for part you are looking for, then scroll down to that part number and you will be able to see actual mfg part number. There should be a "Ice Chute Repair Kit" listed as that is how they come. Search internet for best price.

Ice Jam in Chute - Whirlpool IDI SxS

first check would be to see if the flapper door is closing all the way in the dispenser area. best way is to remove the ice bucket and shine a flashlight from the front up into the disp door area and look for light around the door from inside the chute.

another check would be to make sure the door delay mechanism is connected an not allowing the dispenser door to close to fast trapping a cubes in the door and causing an air leak in the chute..

Keep in mind if you use alot of crushed ice frost build up is faster than with just cubed.

Bottom of ice maker/dispenser frosting over

Open the freezer door and look down the ice chute while you shine a flashlite up the dispenser cute from the outside. If you see light around the chute door, it needs to be replaced or something is wrong with the mechanism. The problem you describe is almost always air leakage around that flap.
Post back if you need more help.
