Question about Behringer EUROPOWER EP2500 Amplifier

Open Question

I'm setting up my system using a DBX234 crossover for the first time. I have a Xenyx2442FX mixer and two B1500 for mains and two B1800X for subs. I am powering the mains with an EP2500 and the subs with an EP4000. I am thinking the DBX234 should be set in the 2-WAY STEREO mode (?). Should the switch on the back of the B1800X subs be set to the Passive or Bi-Amped mode? Are there any other tips or comments you have to direct me in this set up. Thank you!

Well I have a Peavey pv10 mixer. I'm going out of the outputs on the mixer to my amp. Then the outputs on the amp go's to my main speakers. I'm not sure where to add the powered sub. If you need more info...

The easiest thing to do is add an outboard crossover; something like a Rane AC 22S. Set the mode for stereo 2-way & mono sub out. L & R mains out from the mixer to the crossover, mono sub out to the sub and high out's to the full-range speakers.

I have a pair of Behringer B1800x-pro subs that I am hoping to power with my EP4000. Would it be best to run one per channel or would it be better to run them in series with the amp bridged?

Run one per channel... DO NOT forget to use an electronic crossover feeding the amps as the speakers are rated only up to 300HZ so you need a low pass feeding these or you may burn them up. Some people are using the DriveRack crossover module for example to prevent sending highs to the subs and smoking them.

Sorry, I have looked at the schematics and the TAPE IN jacks are mixed into the MAIN outs AFTER the insert jacks, so your subs will NOT receive signal via the insert from the TAPE IN jacks.
You could make a small passive mixer merging the TAPE/CD before going to the crossover. This would require some non-standard cabling.... The other option is to run the CD into a regular stereo channel rather than the TAPE IN jacks... then the CD will go through the insert/crossover and to the subs as you desire. The last option is to use the crossover at the MAIN outputs instead of as an insert... which would be the CONVENTIONAL way... use BALANCED cables wherever possible.

MAckie 1604 VLZ Pro Mixer, running QSC 1850 with jbl's from main outs. I would like to hook up powered subwoofers. What is the correct pathway? kenshireman@msn.com

The best way is to use a two-way crossover between the mixer and the amplifiers. In your case, the low output from teh crossover would go to the powered subs, the highs to the QSC. Use the crossover adjustment to set the frequency crossover point to get the sound quality you require.

Generally speaking you should only send low frequencies to subs. The highs, while lower in power than the lows, will over time harm the voice coils. The ideal way to do this is to use an external crossover netween the main output and the amp input with the higher range going to a general set of speakers. Send the lows through the second channel of the amp and then to the subs.

In short, while not recommended, yes you can hook them up in parallel.

Can I plug just one subwoofer into my Yamaha EMX88S? What kind of sub do I need to get for it? Do I need to have 2 subs plugged in for it to sound right? Do I daisy chain the subs with the A15 speakers I...

it is not reccomended to daisy chain passive subs with main speakers, because there is no crossover unit involved. you want a sub to have a crossover frequency around 100hz, so that only frequencies lower than this go through the subs, and not in the main speakers.

you could get away with 1 sub plugged into the mono output on the front, subs dont have to be stereo. you would need a self popwered sub, or an additional amplifier+crossover for passive subs. your best bet would to be to get a powered sub and hook it up to the front panel mono out. powered subs usually already have the crossover built--in.

I would like to know I have 2 subwoofer with amp how can I connect it the best way thank you

first, you will need a passive crossover, i do not believe that the mono out of the mixer has a crossover., if the amp does not have a crossover. you could use the "mono" output, and split the signal, with an adapter, to both channels of the crossover, then run both of the low outs to the 2 channels of the amp. or, you could hook the crossover to the main laft and right outputs of the board. send the 2 low outs, left and right, to the subs' amp, and send the two high outs, left and right, to the main speakers' amp.

Here is a link to the manual:http://www.peavey.com/assets/literature/manuals/00513220_7.pdf I didn't look at the manual for the crossover but this is probably the way I would do it. Look at page 13 in the manual : Come out of the Main out (31 in the diagram) into the main in of your crossover. Go out of your crossover Hi and Mid out setting back into Power amp In 1 (labelled 32 in the diagram). Hook your speakers that you normally use to the output jacks on the back of the Peavey. Make sure you match the output impedances. Go out of your crossover low output into the Pyle power amp and out of the Pyle into your subs. Make sure the impedance ratings of all your speakers match the output impedances of your amps. You will only be running in Mono mode as that is the signal output of the Peavey mixer. You can run faux stereo by using the Main monitor Out as 1/2 the pair and the Main Out as the other 1/2 to both channels of the crossover but you won't be getting a true stereo pan mode.

How do i connect my pv2600amp to my peavey subs and top speakers, i have the leads but what do i do?

Line outs Left and Right from mixer to power amp Left and Right inputs,
Power amp outs to Subs(if they have passive crossovers built in check specs on subs).
From Subs then to Main spkrs. Make sure power amp is set in stereo mode using this way.

Alternative: You will need at least a 2-way stereo crossover unit inline after mixer and before power amps if the subs don't have a built in passive crossover. Most of them do have passive crossovers in the subs these days. Then separate amps or one channel would drive the subs and the other the main speakers. True stereo would require at least a 2 way crossover and two stereo power amps if hooking them up this way.

There is another option as is common with many sub setups. Send the signal to the mains using L/R outputs from mixer and a separate Mono output to the subs only. Putting only bass/kick and low frequency outputs in this send would help too.

You would need a 2 or 3 way crossover, depending on whether or not you biamp your tops. Simply go out of your main outs on the mixer into the input of the crossover. Go from the low output of your crossover to your low power amp input (subs), and the high output of the crossover to the high power amp input (tops). Then go from your outputs of your amps into the speakers themselves.
