First thing is to check your air filter(s). Next make sure the fan is actually running. Also check the indoor coil and make sure it's not choked up with dust and lint. If the fan looks like it is running to slow then turn the power off and make sure it rotates freely by hand and look at the fan blades and see if they need cleaning. Also a weak capacitor will sometimes make a fan run slow. Let me know what you find and I can offer more suggestions.

I have a ruud ubhc-17j11sfd that does not blow cold air. it blows room temperature air only. the unit seems to run ok and the outside fan runs ok also. The filter is cleaned and the thermostat is set to...

Hello, if the airflow seems good and the unit is clean it is possible that the unit has a low refrigerant charge due to a leak, if you have a thermometer measure the return air and the supply air, tjen find the differance between the two, if it is below 15 then the unit is undercharged and will neec to be recharged.

RUUD UBHC-17J14SFA HEATING PROBLEM

you may have airflow issues, verify the inlet and outlet temps with the unit running on start up, if the unit exceeds the "rise" allowable then the safety devices "overtemp" will take the firing circuit off line until it cools down. The acceptable mfg. rise is listed on the nameplate inside the burner chamber, (generally on the side wall)

Air condition runs for atleast an hour and don't come on after 10 pm

What is the outside temperature when it runs for over an hour?
do you have a programmable thermostat? Have you verified the settings for on times? Have you had your outside unit service (cleaned) recently? these are some of the things that could be causing the issues you describe

Uotside unit blowing cool air but hot on the inside

It sounds like you have a unit called a heat pump. When a heat pump unit is in cooling mode the outside unit blows hot air and the inside unit blows cold air. If the outside unit is blowing cold then the indoor unit is most likely blowing room temperature or warm air. It sounds like the thermostat could be controlling incorrectly or you could have a failed reversing valve which is the device that switches the unit from heating to cooling mode.

Ruud Achiever 10 heat pump - outside fan won't shut off

Definately get this checked out. Some thing has shorted just enough to let voltage "Feed back" and keep the fan running. Could be capacitor, wires rubbed through each other, etc. A reset is a safety that is used when there is an overcurrent or over pressure situation. No reset set for this situation.
There is always an outside chance that if you touch the unit while standing on wet ground, you may get shocked. I firmly believe that something is allowing power to the fan in a feedback condition so don't let this go as it may cause damage to other parts.

Good Luck and let me know how you make out on this.

Set the thermostat four degrees lower then house temperature and fan to on. Go outside and see if fan is running. If not check circuit breaker.

RUUD (Protech Model 500) Thermostat Single Stage Not Programable

problem is not the thermostat, thermostat is an on-off switch that happens to work on temperature. Your furnace is locking out. cycling the heat off switch resets the micro-processor in the furnace. You need to diagnose the problem in the furnace, to go further we will need the model and approximate age of the unit
