Refill rinse-aid compartment. It should solve the problem. If not - adjust to max dosage for a few washes before adjusting back gradually over a period of a week or so.

Also check salt level.
Good idea to check levels on the first of the month.

It turned my glassware cloudy; what caused that & how do I clean them?

Usually too hot a wash and lack of rinse aid. I don't use (or recommend) the "all in 1 tablets" The dispensers on dishwashers are made for powder and liquid rinse aid. You should use them. Running the glassware through the machine again with these products will usually clear the cloudiness. Make sure the bottom drain filters are cleaned regularly as well. I recommend "Finish" products, they are pretty good and give a good result.

How do you eliminate the film on glassware after washed in dishwasher ?

Your heater may not be working properly. It is used to heat the water during the main wash as well as dry the dishes at the end. But don't under-estimate the importance of using the right detergent. Some discount detergents (especially liguids or gels) don't work very good. Stick with Cascade or Finish powders or those All-In-One tablets by Finish corporation (the ones with the little red "power ball"), or the new tablets put out by Cascade called "Platinum". In our repair business and experience, we find those work best.

How did I get the film off my glassware? My glassware has a thick film that is very unappealing. I have to hand wash them. I use cascade detergent.

If you are not using a water softener use a rinse aid such as Jet Dry. This will help to eliminate scum on glassware. Use the solid form of Jet Dry. If you use a water softener you need to decrease the amount of detergent.
You can determine the cause of cloudy glassware by soaking a glass in vinegar for 5 minutes. If the cloudiness is removed it is a hard water deposit and more detergent is likely needed. If the cloudiness is not removed it is a permanent condition known as etching. In this situation, use less detergent and stop pre-washing. In actuality, dishwashing detergent needs a bit of soil to work on, otherwise it will tend to foam up.

It filters the water entering your dishwasher and removes the hard minerals that cause these spots. Very affordable and guaranteed to leave your dishes looking amazing every time.
