Re: Configuration setting does not save
Make the changes on the printer,
save the changes (press twice on setup button).
chek if the driver have "use driver setings"
if you want to use the setings from the printer, you need to change the "use drivers setings" to "use printer setings ( this is to change on the driver)

The settings in the printer driver are overriding the saved printer settings. Do this: 1. Correct the printer settings and save them permanently. 2. Print saved configuration for future reference and to see if it changes.(Power on while holding cancel) 3. Print a label from computer. 4. Print configuration again (Power on while holding cancel). 5. Compare the 1st and 2nd printouts. If they are different then the printer driver is changing the printer settings. In other words the printer settings and the driver are different and the driver settings will override the printer settings before printing. 6. Change the driver settings and this won't happen. Increase the darkness setting in the driver.
Your printer driver will overide the printer settings. Set the printer settings and save them. Then print config by hold the cancel while power on. Verify the settings are saved and correct. Then send a label to the printer and see if the parameters have changed. If they changed then change the printer driver settings to your preferences and try again.
Check in the Configuration Menu for your "Power on" configuration set. It is most likely set to "Factory Default" Change to your custom set (1,2,3 etc) and save. Make sure you save your set again after you set this (you just changed the config so save it)
There is a tiny button on the print serverback plane that you can press with a paper clip. This will print out a label with your IP address information. Get the IP address (hope that the printer is set for DHCP) and enter this into a web browser. This will take you to a web interface that will let you make configuration changes to the print server and printer. If the printer is set to static IP, change the IP address of your PC to be in the same subnet as the printer and then fire up the browser.
The user name for the printer is ADMIN and the password is 1234 by default. You can also download ZebraNet Bridge from Zebra's web site. This application will find your printer on the network and let you install fonts, upgrade firmware, change settings, etc.
While at the printer settings page of the copier on your PC under printer configuration there is an automatic configuration tab. Once you press this it will ask you to check the boxes with the arrow . The paper is set determined by the copier itself. You may need to check your copier settings to make sure it detects the correct paper in the tray. Also it is not recommended to install this way mainly because if the customer doesn't want to print color they are not able to change the printer condition settings at the individual PCs. So individual install is recommended.
make sure the printer is calibrated. It should feed 1 label only. If it does not default it to force a calibration. hold pause and feed while off then turn on, count to 6 and release the buttons. You also need to set label height and width in the printer driver. Both zebra designer and zebra universial. goto printers and faxes and right click on your printer driver chose properties, this opens up on the general tab.
Configuration changes for current job and Default Configuration changes
There are two places in the driver configuration to change print configuration. In Windows 98, ME, 2000 and XP, go to the "General" tab and click the "Printing Preferences..." button. This menu of configuration parameters are the settings that are in effect for the current print job. Any changes made here will only affect the current, or next, print job. These settings are initialized for each print job from the configuration defaults.
Go to the "Advanced" tab and click the "Printing Defaults..." button. The displayed configuration menu describes the default settings for the driver. These settings are used to set the initial "Printing Preferences..." for new print jobs. It is a convenient place to set parameters that seldom change in you environment. Commonly set default parameters include Printer firmware, Media Settings, Device Options, and Page Size.
On Windows NT, these menus are available when you right click on the printer name in the Printers folder. The pop-up menu contains selections for "Printer Settings" and "Default Settings" which take you to these screens in the driver.
