It is probably a "soft mute" function. Look for the button that looks like it has a speaker on it and press it twice.

NR626 - no sound

If none of your speakers gives any sound, perhaps you pressed the mute button on the remote control?
Make sure you have a source selected, that will give sound. Choose a low volume, before switching anything. You can destroy your speakers, when switching on with full volume.
If some speakers work, and only the surround does not work. check if you have surround sound as input. If you only feed 2 channels you can't expect to hear more than 2 channels.

Ga759wjsa, volume button dosen't work

First switch on a radio receiver which has AM ( medium wave band)
and if the remote controls batteries are good then ,,
tune the MW / AM to lowest frequecy and then start pressing buttons of remote control one by one. for each button pressed you will hear a sharp sound and the button you don't hear a sound in the radio speakers is the faulty one. Then open remote control ( that is if you know how to ,you may have to open few screws and also pry open some plastic latches .Best to take help from one of your friend who had already opened some remote control .)
clean contacts of control pad of remote control with Iso- propyl alcohol.also called as IP.use sergical cotton which will be clean enough.claen also PCB with IP.after drying for few minutes assemble it.take care not to tear the rubber control pads and do to use sharp instruments to clean any parts of the remote .
happy hunting

Speaker buttons don't function correctly

The Speaker A and Speaker B buttons select pairs of speakers. If you have connected a pair of speakers to the "SPEAKER A" terminals on the rear of your Onkyo receiver, you will hear stereo sound when the Speaker A button is pressed on the front panel. If, for some reason, you wanted to connect a second set of speakers in the same room or perhaps another room you would connect those speakers to the "SPEAKER B" terminals on the rear. Pressing both buttons on the front panel would send sound output to both sets of speakers

YAMAHA AV receiver RX-V861 I have the message 'Vol-fix' appearing on Zone 2 and no sound. This was working fine until then

Setting the RX-V861 remote control to operate Zone 2:
  1. Using a ballpoint pen or similar object and press the [CODE SET] button RX-V861 remote control. The[TRANSMIT INDICATOR]on the remote should flash twice.
  2. Using the [NUMERICAL KEY PAD] on the remote and key in 9992, the [TRANSMIT INDICATOR] should flash.
Assigning the receivers internal amp for Zone 2:
  1. Set the remote control selector to [AMP]. (Located to the right of the volume buttons on the Remote.).
  2. Press the [SET MENU]button on the remote control.
  3. Arrow down to Manual Setup and press the Enter button on the remote control.
  4. Arrow to the [SOUND MENU] option and press the [ENTER] button on the remote control.
  5. Arrow to Speaker Set and press the [ENTER] button on the remote control.
  6. Arrow to the EXTRA SP ASSIGN and select ZONE2
  7. Press the [RETURN] button on the remote control to exit out and return to the Manual Setup.
NOTES: There is an option for setting the Maximum Volume and Initial Volume in the Zone Set menu.
  • Max Volume: This is an optional feature but isrecommended to prevent the accidental change in volume levels thatcould damage the speakers and receiver.
  • Initial Volume: This is also a great feature that would seamlessly start the volume level for the second or third zone at the desired level.
We do not recommend using any Speaker Selector boxes to enable more than the recommended number of speakers per terminal.
Controlling Zone 2 using the RX-V861 remote control:
  1. If the Main Zone on the receiver is on, press the [POWER BUTTON]down and while holding that button down press the [PHONO]/[**] button on the remote. The [TRANSMIT INDICATOR] will light up.
  2. You will not be able to use the following buttons on the remote: (Pressing any other button will cause the remote to exit Zone 2 mode. [POWER], [STANDBY], [VOLUME], [MUTE] and the [INPUT SELECTOR] buttons [DVD], [CD], etc.)

Hi Tracey

Most of these older machine had speaker switches on the front panel. Can you check what they are set to. It may be that both switches(A and B) are set in, or set out. this could present the problem you are having with no sound. turn on just one switch that corresponds the connections you have made on the rear (use speaker A) Another thing to check, is when you first turn on the amp, do you hear a relay click shortly after you switch on. If you don't hear this delayed click, then there may well be a problem in the output stages of the amp. If this is the case, then you will need to take it to a tech to have a look and see what has failed in the amp. Hope this info helps, if you have any questions, I am happy to try and help you further.

AVR 132 low sound out put

Google the Samsung codes for your particular model. I did the same thing with one of my Remotes. As for the sound for your AVR. The speaker system on the laptop are not all that good. Click the little speaker icon and try to adjust the sound on your laptop.

Cant Hear Dialogue Over the Background Sound

I had the same problem, first you can download the manual online to see how to reset the speakers. next, make sure you have true digital audio input with a fiber optic or like connector. you should see little LED symbols of r/l/c/w/rr/rl etc. If you just see R and L, it is not getting a true signal.

But what worked the best was getting a better, devoted, CENTER speaker, not just a speaker in the center, but one devoted to dialogue.

good luck
