Question about Car Speakers & Subwoofers

The one/off switch and volume control on the Clarion radio in my Peugeot 406 was not working and the radio was permanently on. After an alternator change it is now permanently off. Is the switch duff, is it replaceable?

I have a clarion m 309 radio and I'm trying to hook up a fusion FM 402 amp for a sub woofer. I had all speakers playing but, I could not control the volume of the sub with the radio. I need to know...

Amps usually receive their signal through RCA wires. Your radio should have one pair of RCA outputs on the back. (red and white) You will adjust your subwoofer volume by adjusting the gains on the amplifer (little knob next to the RCA inputs of the amp), then you can turn up the bass on your radio.

What info do I need to get the code to unlock my Peugoet Car Radio

First of all not all radios can be decoded and this means going to the dealer and paying a hefty fee - usually between £25 - £30 for Peugeot.
Peugeot use radios by different makers e.g. Blaupunkt, Philips and Clarion.
Blaupunkts and Philips can usually be decoded cheaply - and for these I recommend this site which does them for £5.99
If you have a Clarion then unfortunately the vast majority of these cannot be decoded cheaply - you will have to go to the dealer.
You need to remove the radio from the dash to find the serial number on a label at the back. Take note of ALL numbers on the label and any that may be engraved into the case itself. When you have these you can send them to the site at the link and they will email your code back to you.
For Clarion or other makes - you must go to the dealer with your registration document and they will pull the code off their database.
Hope it helps. Thanks for using FixYa.

Peugeot 206 radio code for free serial number is cl0410x0000375

Your radio is made by CLARION and the only CLARION codeavailable for free (using a serial number ) from anywhere on the Internet is ifyour radio also has a BARCODE SERIALNUMBER beginning with C 7000000 + + ++ on a label somewhere on the metalcasing.(note: this is NOT the Serial Number beginning with CL )
If not then it will only be available from your Main Dealer or a Decoding Service oryour local Car Radio / Audio Store who will connect a laptop to read/recode thememory chip (EEPROM) inside your radio

There are two battery feeds to the radio

1...The main one that connects the battery supply via the Ignition Switch

2...A permanently connected battery that maintains the Code Memory and Tuning Settings Memory.

It looks as though the (2 ) is missing

Usual problem is a blown fuse or loose connector at rear of radio.

Can be tested using a Multi-Meter or Test Lamp
