Try removing your battery pack. Then connect the power adaptor (even without the battery) and connect is directly to the power outlet. If it powers up, then the battery pack might be defective or totally drained.

If the battery is just totally drained, simply place the battery to the laptop. Do not turn the laptop on. Plug the power adaptor to the laptop and plug it to the power source. If you see that the charging LED is blinking in your laptop, then just leave it charging up to 5 to 8 hours.

Never use a laptop on battery mode while it is plugged in to a power source. This is the number 1 reason why laptop batteries don't last longer.

If your dell laptop computer runs normally on the AC adapter, but the battery won’t charge, please try the following troubleshooting steps:
Check the dell laptop battery and Connections:
1, Remove the battery from the system.
2, Look at the connectors in the bay and on the battery for signs of physical damage.
3, Check the battery charge by pressing the status button or image on the battery near the LED’s.
Note: The lights indicate the current amount of charge on the battery. If all the LED’s come on when you press the button, the battery is fully charged. If fewer lights are lit, then the battery is partially charged. If any lights flash, or blink, there could be a problem with the battery.
4, Reinsert the battery; push until it locks into place and the latch snaps back to the locked position.

Unit won't turn on

If the overload indicator is lit, the most likely cause is there are more devices plugged into the UPS than is can support. Try unplugging all devices but one and see if the unit functions normally.

You can then try to figure out how many is too many.

Interior light not turning on. Temperature not showing up either. Brand new out of the box. Plugged in and it lit up, then turned off. Now won't turn on (light won't turn on) Unit turns on and

Sounds like a poor connection in the control or a faulty control module, I would return it as faulty for a new one. They seal those units up pretty good so we can't fiddle with them. Everyone gets a lemon sometimes.

WON"T WORK

sounds like a dead battery. Plug the origional charger into it and the front led (below the flash) should flash red. If the red led in the back of the camera flashes or stays lit, then you have the wrong charger plugged in. (the camera won't power up if the back red/green led is on when plugged in)

Turn on

Have you checked your power adapter with a digital multimeter? Maybe run it by your local radioshack or computer super store if you dont have a DMM and see if someone can check the voltage on it. Maybe your adapter died, then the laptop was running on battery until it went dead.

Another quick check, remove the battery all together. Plug in the ac adapter... does it turn on? does it show any lit led's indicating it is plugged into the wall? try wiggling the connector at the jack on the laptop, does that light any led's or cause power to be restored?
