Question about Vivitar ViviCam 8025 Digital Camera

It won't take a picture. It says

It won't take a picture. It says "card protected" How do I unlock it?

Take the card out, there should be a small notch on the left hand side, move the notch to "Write Enable" or Unlock position.

If that's not the issue, you camera could have photo protect switched on. Its part of the camera menu. You'll have to search it out and turn the protect function off.

Check that if the side bar of your memory card is at unlock? if it won't help, format your memory card by your computer

Take the memory card out of your camera and look at it. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

If that doesn't work, try another card.
