I think the USB card is locked. You can slide the card out and flip the little notch up then replace and try.

I have an vivitar vivicam s128 when I put my sd card in it says card protected what can I do

Sure you did not lock the card? The little notch should be in the up position as in the picture. Then the manual says you can use SD cards up to 32 Gbyte, but I can't find anything about the cameras compatibility with SDHC cards. So try the camera with a SD card. The used to make SD cards up to 4 Gbyte, but today, even 1 Gbyte cards are SDHC.
1- check Lock
2- Use SD card to see if your camera works with that.

See a 4GB card, only SD, but not for sale anymore.

SAMSUNG D760 HOW TO DELETE PHOTOS, IT SAYS CARD LOCKED.

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Accidentally switched my sandisk memory to 'lock'

Locking the card simply protects it from writes. It does not wipe out anything that was on it already.

If you're asking about a Memory Stick, there's a switch on the back. Slide it away from the "LOCK" position. If you're asking about an SD card, there's a switch on the side. Slide it toward the metal contacts.

What size is the memory card. If it's larger than 4GB then it won't work in the 5118.
Try using another card. Don't format it in your computer but do format it in the camera before trying to take pictures.

How do i shut off write protection

Hi, i have here a photo that will show you on how to remove write protect on a micro SD.
1. You need to insert your micro SD into an adapter. 2. Unlock the micro SD through your adapter as shown below. 3. Once done, your micro SD is no longer write protected. eibraz_16.jpg

NOTE: The lock switch doesn't lock the micro SD into the adapter; The lock switch doesn't lock the data on the micro SD; The lock switch simply tells the "user" not to write. It just says "please, don't write me."
I hope this helps.

My samsung s1065 camera is saying "card locked "i have not put a code or anything in it so i dont know why its locked an i cannot take any photos or anything

Remove the SD memory card from the camera. Look for the lock switch on the memory card and slide it away from the "lock" position. Re-insert the SD card and all should be well.

SD stands for Secure Digital and was one of the first memory cards to have a physical security lock to protect your data.

I Put my memory card (SD 1.0 GB) in the computer to take photo's from it and in a hurry i pulled it out without safely removing it or anything. now when i turn it on it says 'this memory card is protected'...

It sounds as if something has got messed up on the card

Did you get all the photos off the card that you wanted to? If so, try the following:

Put the card back in the computer. Go to 'My Computer', right-click on the icon for the memory card and select 'Format'. (WARNING - Doing this will wipe any data from the card!)

Once your done, try it in the camera again. Hopefully all should be OK again.

It might also be worth reformatting the card with the camera itself. It shouldn't make any difference, but some people recommend this.

Hope this helps,

Matt
