Hi there, our airc onditioner unit is dripping in the house from the louvered slats but there is no water dripping outside the house from the hose like it should. It was working fine one day, not the next. Any quick fix ideas?

Try to get at the drain hose from outside. It sounds gross but try to blow some air int the drain hose. Do not blow to hard but hard enough to tell if the hose is clogged or not. If the hose is not plugged hou may have to tear into the unit a bit. The drain hose is either on the left or right hand side of the unit. You should be able to take out the filters in the unit to see down in the drain pan. It is under the coil and you should be able to see water in it. It may be better to have a technician come over and tear into the unit to get the drain pan out and cleaned. Sometimes if water gets trapped in the drain pan it will slime up and cause it not to drain properly. They do sell a tablet that you can use in the drain pan to treat the water to keep it from sliming up and getting moldy. We sell the bottle of 100 tablets for around 25 dollars. Your local HVAC Wholesaler or contractor should have these on hand. Let me know how it goes.

The BHD-501-D dehumidifier developed a dripping sound of water. Does it have a filter we need to change or some other issue. This dehumidifier has been in use Sept-Oct 2009, July-Oct 2010 and...

The dripping sound, if it's water dripping into the water collection bucket is normal. The filter is behind the louvers on the front. It can be accessed(depending on the model) by turning the unit OFF, unplugging it and removing the water bucket. Inside the water bucket holder at the top of it's opening, just behind the louvers, you will see a plastic tab(s) pull handle. If the filter has never been removed to be cleaned (shame on you), there may be a piece of plastic tape holding it in place. This was for shipping purposes. Remove it and discard it. Pull the tab handle(s) straight down and the filter and frame should come out. It may be snug, since you have never removed it, so be gently persistent . Since it has never been cleaned in 2 years, vacuuming it will not work. Wash it in warm water and mild dish washing liquid, rinse thoroughly and allow to completely dry, before reinstalling. NEVER operate the unit without the filter in place. As it cause damage to the unit.

If the filter was not where I said to first look. There may be a flip open type rectangular door on the right side of the unit, just behind the front louvers. Ope that door and you will see the plastic filter frame. Pull that straight out and follow the instructions above to clean it.

I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Water dripping out of Mr. Slim on indoor unit.

Reason for water leaking.
1. Filter block. 2. Cooling coil block. 3. Alignment of indoor a/c unit is sloping downwards. 4. Drain pan block. It's advisable to service your unit first.

Water dripping from 2 units

Hi!!

Condensed water from the evaporator coil is not draining.

Make sure the unit is not tilted towards any side, specially left. If OK, pull up the front grill remove the plastic cover on the right bottom corner, (usually one screw) to get access to a plastic hose, make sure it is not bend too sharply that prevents flow of water, on the drain hole, use a piece of wire to unclogg it OR from the other end of the hose, outside the house, blow some air into it, to unclogg it.

Don't forget to rate this Post!

A cause of this is a dirty filter or evaporator. Make sure both are always clean.

Water leaking at front of condensor ( inside)unit.

sounds like there might be a blockage in the condensate pan that is not letting all the water drain through the condensate line. if you can access this area try to clean all the debris out

Water leaking under the unit dripping on the floor

Sometimes you will get a dripping if the unit is not level, or a seal on the drain hose might be loose. but i would check to make sure the unit is leveled properly.
