Question about Samsung DLP HL-P5663W 56" TV

1 Answer

Rcahdlp50w151yx1 tv shuts down approximately every 6 minutes for about 45 seconds then comes back on. Prior to shutting down it flickers with bars of white. There is an accompanying whining that I believe is the color wheel coming on but it never seems to go away. I replaced the projector lamp on 6-27-2007. I have taken the back off and dusted all accessible areas. Any suggestions?

Install a 110v computer fan on the outside of the TV to **** the heat out. I did this and my TV has never turned off again. The TV has a poor interior fan and does not take the excessive heat out. Also the TV does not indicate a heat problem like the manual states. Need further assistance email me for pictures and suggestions on the fan

73" Mitsubishi DLP. turned on the tv and got only sound, no picture. after a minute it would shut down and red light would pop on the front. replaced bulb and hooked it back up. now it turns on but af

Try cleaning the little fans that keep the bulb cool, the temp sensor will shut it off so not to damage the bulb , the winning sound may be the fan going bad or not working like it should.

Philips Magnavox 32MT3305 keeps shutting off with relay clicking. The green power light stays on but the picture and sound go out right after the orange status bar goes away. If the channel up or down...

the relay is the safety protective device..sometimes a defective component or something. maybe an overloaded power supply might caused this problem..so before any thing could gets worst..the relay will shut the unit..

Turn on and screen goes blank after 45 seconds

Hi,
I found the problem was related to the lamp. Your TV power up but then the lamp would overheat and automatically shut down (audio and video) resulting in a dark screen with no sound. Once the lamp cooled (30 - 60 secs) it would come back on. Then overheat, turn off - recycling "eternally". A new lamp will solve the problem

My tv shuts off after only two minutes

try using a master reset to fix this.
Sometimes after being used for awhile electronics tend to malfunction.
press and hold these buttons in this order....
power / volume up / channel down.
The tv should shut off after doing this.
Turn it back on manually.
This will reset the TVs internal memory chip.
I dont guarentee this as a permanent fix....but it worked for me.Good luck

Shuts down for 30 to 45 sec. Comes back only to do the same thing on the half hour. Really screwed up the all star game.

sounds like a bad flyback transformer which will shut down the tv every 30-45 seconds.

Hitachi 60EX38B shuts down after 30 min or 45 min of viewing.

I would offer that you at least take the back off and give it a good cleaning - compressed air etc .. its gotta be dusty .. the dust could be causing some heat problems

Sony 36brx800 shuts off on own

As a TV tech the simple answer is no! If you were a well qualified electronics tech but just not used to TV's then the answer might be a very weak 'maybe' and that's if you had a TV tech talking you thru the whole process on the phone.

shutdown probs can be the power supply, bad solder joints, or also very likely the high voltage power supply. Meaning the area where the TV generates upwards of 30 thousand volts!! The set has overvoltage protection that makes sure that things don't completely fry, catch on fire etc.

Ya really need special training to avoid getting zapped with tazer like volts or worse! Sorry but safety says better stay out of this one!

It shuts off on its own will

something is getting hot and a fan could keep it cool and it might help to keep it running.longer . I have tv shop and ones like your that come on are hard to fix unless it fails all the time,I would suspect cold solder joints on board and is fixable but wait fot it to fail all the time before you get it fixed

thanks DOCTOR VIDEO
