This happens very often when using refilled cartridges. Please turn off the printer, clean the cartridges contact point (not the print head), also clean the contact point on the printer. Remove the power chord and the usb cable. Again power on the printer without the cartridges installed and without usb cable connected. Leave it for few minutes and again turn it off (please only use the power button on the printer to switch off and on). Now reinstall the cartridges and connect the usb and Switch On. You can let me know, if you still have problem ever after following this instructions. Good luck. Thanks for using FixYa.

I have refilled my cartridges and when I install the red light still flashes

All refilled ink cartridges are not allowed to use for HP printers, Yes! it might work at the first time that your using refilled ink cartridges. but sooner or later the printer might be damage, so it is advisable to use genuine HP ink cartridges and just in case that your still having problems on it. You can call HP and inform then what happen, in that way they can support you and provide all the options that you need because your using an in-warranty accessory. (your ink cartridge)

Printer will not accept new cartridges. Printer is new and wants original cartridges to initialize ink system. Original cartridges are not availible. Tryed reset but did not work.

HP printers will not accept refilled cartridges. Are you trying to replace your empty cartridges with refilled cartridges? There is a computer chip in the ink cartridge that tells the printer when it is out of ink. If you try and refill it yourself, the printer will not recognize that it has been refilled without replacing the computer chip in it.

I think your printer is telling you that it needs HP brand cartridges that are original and not refilled cartridges. There is no way to "reset" an hp printer to get it to use an off brand or refilled cartridge that has not had the chip changed.

You can pick up a good refilled cartridge at a professional company who knows about changing the chip for less then a third of the regular price of an HP cartridge in a department store. However, HP does not want you to use refilled cartridges and should something go wrong with your computer and they find out that you were using them they will void your warranty on your printer.

If you are not trying to replace HP brand cartridges with refilled or off brand versions, I suggest your return them to where you bought them and exchange them. They may be defective cartridges.

Hope this helps?

Can't get HP PSC 2530 to accept re-filled catridges! Both are full but it keeps telling me to remove and check right-hand one; can't by-pass or override the message.

Hi

In order not to have error messages in your printer
You need to remove all the air bubbles from the cartridges
the best way when you do it alone is bu using refill clips

Printout is very "dirty" i.e. toner smudge down the middle of page on a hp laserjet 2200D

Hi,
This may happen if you refill your cartridge to use again. Remove the cartridge from your printer and use a cotton bud to clan the nozzles and other leak if present.
If still your problem persists, then you may need to change the cartridge if refilled for many times.

I hope this is useful to you.
Thanks

Printer won't accept refilled cartage

I had a similar problem and i cleaned the chip on the cartridges several times, eventually mine accepted them and started working. I turned the printer on and off several times and re inserted the cartridges before i got mine to work. This happened everytime i needed to change the ink unless i used a brand new HP ink.

Once I went to the shop and got some refilled cartridges and one of them wouldnt work at all. I presumed the old ones i had taken in would be refilled but apparently not. Anyway the shop replaced the faulty one free of charge.

How do I reset the ink level indication on a HP F4235 Deskjet printer when using a refilled cartrige?

Forgive me for asking this, but roughly speaking about 80 to 95% of problems involving ink or toner are resolved by the following:
Are you using a factory new ink cartridge supplied by the manufacturer of the printer?
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.
If you are using the manufacturer’s new ink cartridges, then please contact their technical support group. Factory new cartridges usually have warranties on them.

Hp 818 print cartridge show incompatible after refill, or show problem with print cartidge. how to use them after refill without any problem

Whoever is doing refill for you should know that HP cartridges have electronic sensors that measure level of ink. They should have procedure with which they either reset the counter or "fool" the cartridge to work after refill.

Basically, you can't do anything yourself.

Wont print

Hi, yes I have had problems with these HP printers B4 and it was in fact the INK... strange as it may seem, Ya gota have them "Full" as it were. I have "Fooled" it sometimes by removing the cartridge(s) and powering on & of re-inserting them. But eventually always ended up paying thru the nose for the cartridges. I saved a bit by using refilled ones, but I now use printers that have cheap single color ones, eg: Canon i550
