A dirty air filter and a carbon-plugged engine and/or muffler will cause these symptoms. Unscrew the muffler and make sure the exhaust port on the cylinder is clear. Inspect the muffler (especially the small screen). That is called the spark arrestor. Scrape or burn clean and reinstall. Also the small pulse hole in the carb must be clear and aligned with the pulse hole of the engine, including the gaskets.

That solenoid is the electric choke and it will flood the truck out if it's not working properly, have you tried to hold the butterfly opened while cranking it, if it starts then, you can unplug the connector to the choke and run it, it just might be hard to start when it's cold.

Dump ALL old fuel out of tank, you might have got a clog in the fuel line, carburator, fuel valve. Remove carb bottom Sediment bowl then spray Carb cleaner thru the gas inlet AT the carb 3-4 secs CAUTION: KEEP YOUR HEAD BACK.. that cleaner hurts if you get it in your eyes... and NEVER SPRAY A HOT ENGINE (np with yours tho no start) Refill tank with NEW fuel (or strained at least if emergency remote repair) Place a suitable catch container over gas inlet line to carb (at carb) open fuel valve chk for fuel FLOWING (no dripping) into container. replace fuel line to carb start as normal
if not firing still chk that spark plug, might need cleaning now that rest is ok.

I have a Shindiawa T-27 weedeater.Everytime i give it gas,it stalls.Idles fine but stalls as soon as you hit the gas.i put clean gas a new plug in it no good.

Depending on how old this unit is, you should be able to adjust the hi/lo speed needles on the carb. If it is so new that they have a strange head rather than a screwdrive slot, you will have to experiment to find something that will turn them. Sounds like you are not getting fuel when you open the throttle. Other than that, probably a carb cleaning would be in order.

When turning the fuel needle, you just want to turn it about 1/4 turn then try to give it the gas. You are going to be turning it out, or counter clock wise. Once you get it so that the engine will rev, try giving it fuel 2 or 3 times very fast. If it bogs down or acts like it is going to die, adjust the needle a bit more.

My cycle would start but die when I give it gas so I emptied the gas out of it since it has been sitting for a long time. Put new gas in the tank and now it will not even start. Before it would start and...

Did you also drain the carbs when you drained the tank? You may have a vacuum controlled fuel valve which won't let the new gas into the carbs. If you can crank the motor long enough it should open and fill the carbs. Otherwise you can **** on the vacuum hose for half a minute and open the valve to fill the carbs that way. If it was sitting for a year or more it will likely need a carb cleaning, but it should run on new gas if it ran on old gas. Also if there is a fuel pump make sure it is working and any filter or screens in the tank fitting or inline that they are not blocked.

Mass flooding piston cylinder

This sounds to me like a carb float being stuck open. Turn off the gas and drain the carb. Next, turn the gas back on and sharply tap the float bowl with the plastic handle of a screwdriver as the fuel bowl refills. The goal here is to vibrate the float to free it up. If doing this process a couple of times does not free the float I would remove the carb and clean it with a spray carb cleaner. Be sure main jet and float needle are clear. Clean the air filter then re-mount carb. Next Remove the water trap bowl at the bottom of the petcock, (gas valve). Dump it, clean it and re-mount it, ( not all bikes have a water trap bowl ).
Install an inline fuel filter. Turn the gas on, wait a moment for the float bowl to fill with gas then give it a try.

Please rate this solution. Thanks!

Poulan 3700 will not keep running when you open the choke.

The prob is at the base of the carb. Its sucking air. Be certain to install a new gasket, making sure the both services are very clean. And the mounting bolts tightened equally! Frankster016
