Question about Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 Digital Camera

Open Question

"Remove lens cap and press ** button"

Hi,

I have a problem with my Lumix FZ27 camera.
On display appears:
"Remove lens cap and press "PLAY" button"
even though cap is removed. I can hear something like rubbing when camera is switched on.
It seems like my lens is getting stuck.. Or can be there any other reason?
Please help

TIA

SOURCE: For some reason my camera keeps comming up with a "REMOVE LENS CAP AND PRESS > BUTTON" error but the lens cap isn't on the camera :(

We had the same problem with our FZ8. My wife had dropped it and it must've knocked the lens barrel sensor out of whack. Based on what was posted by atocha, I was able to fix it.

With the lens barrel out, I gently pushed the barrel up, down, left, right and put a little pressure in. Somehow, the barrel worked itself into the right position! The camera works perfectly know. Its worth a shot to save $$$. Be gentle!! Good luck.

SOURCE: "Remove lens cap"

Lens damaged or grit/sand in it. If the lens is out at all then whoever was using it will know what happened, as it was going at the time.

If you think it's sand/grit, try tapping it on the bottom, while holding it lens downwards 1 foot above a piece of white paper, see what falls out.

I fixed these units for 4 years and we used to collect sand and tape it to the camera because customers would deny taking them to the beach. LOL.

Lumix DMC FZ35 Lens Opens and Retracts Continually When Turning the Camera on.

it sounds like it has slipped a gear in the lens.. you could try to manually push the lens in when it comes out and that might reset it but it also might break it.. best is to send it back to panasonic.. is a easy fix

Error message remove lense capand press "play" button. The lense cap is not on.

The lens is jammed in, either the unit has had a knock or there is debris (sand/grit) in the unit, been to the beach lately.
Check to see if the lens is sitting level with the front of the camera. Unit will probably need to go in for servicing.

Hi my camera is telling me to...

Is the camera turned on? Removed the Cap on the Zoom lens? Try turning it off and on, while the cap cover on the lens is removed, then press the heart button and take some photos. What specifically is the warning?

Cannot take pictures

Hello,

Has the camera been bumped recently?

This could cause one or more lens elements to shift slightly out of position and thus prevent the lens from extending.

You can check inside the lens, and try to shift the lens elements back into position by bumping the camera the other way. I have read some people were actually successful at this.

(Don't bump it too hard).

If the lens still doesn't extend, then there are still some options:

1. Take or send the camera to a service center to get fixed. This will likely be over $100.

2. Get a new camera, there are better ones out there and for close the same price as having this one fixed.

LCD showing "remove len cap and press reset button" always

Simple! Read warnings carefully! It said "remove lens cap and press SET button"! So remove the lens cap and then press the SET button (or arrow downward in the four directions button)! You don´t need to RESET anything...
