Question about Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 Digital Camera
I have a problem with my Lumix FZ27 camera.
On display appears:
"Remove lens cap and press "PLAY" button"
even though cap is removed. I can hear something like rubbing when camera is switched on.
It seems like my lens is getting stuck.. Or can be there any other reason?

We had the same problem with our FZ8. My wife had dropped it and it must've knocked the lens barrel sensor out of whack. Based on what was posted by atocha, I was able to fix it.
With the lens barrel out, I gently pushed the barrel up, down, left, right and put a little pressure in. Somehow, the barrel worked itself into the right position! The camera works perfectly know. Its worth a shot to save $$$. Be gentle!! Good luck.

SOURCE: "Remove lens cap"
Lens damaged or grit/sand in it. If the lens is out at all then whoever
was using it will know what happened, as it was going at the time.
If you think it's sand/grit, try tapping it on the bottom, while holding it lens downwards 1 foot above a piece of white paper, see what falls out.
I fixed these units for 4 years and we used to collect sand and tape it to the camera because customers would deny taking them to the beach. LOL.

1. Power off
2. Remove the battery.
3. Put the battery to its place
4. Power on
5. If nothing happens
6. Replace the battery with charged one
7. Power on again
It should be work.
