When a file is deleted from a digital
camera or computer, its contents aren't immediately destroyed. It is simply the
space used to save itself that has been marked as "free space". As long as the
free space is not occupied by anything new, you do have chances to get it back.
So, you can try to restore these deleted pictures back from the recycle bin by using a digital camera data recovery freeware.
This freeware also could work efficiently on your camera in the same way as it successfully restores all the deleted files back from a canon digital camera of my friend.
After experiencing this trouble, I hope you could learn to make backups of everything important all the time.

Once you delete a video or pictures on the camera's memory card, it is not retrievable, since the memory is not magnetic, as is a hard drive's memory. This is just the way it is, and no technology can retrieve it. The best way to ensure that you will not lose any files on the card, is to first transfer them to your computer, and then delete them from there. When you do that, the files will be in the recycle bin for recovery, in case you accidentally delete them from the computer. Sorry to have to relay the bad news, wish there was a better answer for you.
