Clarion CMD4A Marine CD player

it just turns on by itself. changes stations. also changes from cd to satilite, to fm to aux. to mut. no rhyme or reason. this is my third clarion.. am I nuts?

- I just replace it lat night with a new one, 20 minutes later, turned on by itrself an started changing again by itself..

It seems that there might be a loose contact somewhere the power wiring.
Have you check that?
Is very unlike that 3 devices have exactly the same failure.

- Check the connector that has all the wires for oxidation and you might need to clean them with rubbing alcohol.

There is something on the connection because it is repeatatively sending infos to your player, try to disconnect it and try checking the cables on how you set it up.

- Just try to connect the power source to it and turn it on, if it give you the same results, Hardware issue. If not then try plugging other cables one by one.

Hi,

The only solution to fix this problem is to get it serviced or just replace the unit if it is still under warranty.

You can try out a hard reset by unpluggng the unit for 30min and then plug it back.
