Remove the batteries and clean both ends of the batteries with a pencil eraser. Do the same with the contact points in the scale. This should help. Bathrooms are damp, you may want to set it elswhere for reliable use.

I have had my D3100 for about 2 years and love it. In the past 2 weeks it won't power up. I thought the battery had gone bad so I bought another. It powered up and I took a few pics but then 2 minutes...

are you using Lithium batteries?

cameras are WEIRD!!!! I have watched brand new, regular size personal camera eat regular batteries in just a couple pictures, then work fine with lithium batteries. Also..cheap batteries are just getting cheaper, so as it may of worked fine 2 years ago, could just be not so good batteries. If your not using lithium batteries, id try that first, will run you 10 bucks for 4 AA's, but thats better than the flat rate fee a shop would charge you to look at it first.

an image..just in case

It seems like your batteries have run out - you can buy new batteries from here http://www.amazon.com/PetSafe-6-Volt-Lithium-Battery-Batteries/dp/B0009811TW/ref=pd_sim_petsupplies_8 The battery is very easy to change, the handset also runs on batteries but they are AA and can be purchased from your local store.

My RCA portable DVD wont charge. I brought it two months ago and it was working fine until 2 weeks ago. #DRC99371EB

Lithium ion batteries can be over charged. You have to try to discharge it then recharge it to retain the long life of the battery. Otherwise you have to replace the battery.

Purchased the two lithium and charger combo about two years ago. I use my Ryobi drill and flashlight in the garage and around the house no where near commercial/professional levels. About three (3)...

How long have these 2 batteries been standing idle without being charged? Lithium ion batteries can still discharge if left for too long. There is a voltage detector which detects whether the cells are too far discharged to be safely charged again and if that occurs the circuit is broken and the batteries will be deffective in the charger.
I have had the same problem with these and other LI batteries. Answer is replace the batteries and then make sure they are given a quick charge on a regular basis. However common advice seems to be that LI's should not be kept fully charged, but just partially charged until needed, then charge them for use, especially if usage is sporadic

Camera purchased 6 weeks ago and it does not turn on now. batteries read barely into good area on battery charger. thought regular AAs would work, but they don't. HELP!!

Try new Alkyline batteries again ... (not heavy duty ones).
Make sure the batteries are inserted in the correct polarity... I'm sure it's the batteries.

Have you tried to use another batteri. Many lithium ion batteries are flawed and stop working.
It might be a solution so you dont have to throw it out..

Hope it works out for you
