Question about EA Sports Pelican Int'l. Colorado 15' 6" Canoe
I bought a 12' coleman canoe that the previous owner painted. The paint is peeling badly on it, but not coming off easy. What would be the best way to remove the old paint? Thanks.

If you really want to paint it, try Tremclad. But you should not store it in direct UV light, because that is breaking down the plastic.
There are now paints designed to paint vinyl or other plastics. These will be more flexible than Tremclad (or equivalent) paints. Do consider whether the canoe is worth the time and money to do the job, or if you would rather be paddling it.

I would recommend painting it with a type of paint that would adhere to the material the canoe is made of whether that is aluminum, fiberglass, etc. My guess is that you have been leaving only half of the canoe in the sun, so when you store the canoe, either keep it in a shaded area or cover it with a tarp to keep the sun off.
