Question about Vintage Keeper chillR 300 Wine Cooler

Open Question

KoolR Plus unit - stopped working (no cooling) just over 1 year old (of course). This is the third unit I have had and all have worked great for 1-2 years and then they simply stop working. The fact that they work perfectly for a couple of years and then simply stop cooling or stop working altogether would indicate to me that this is an incredibly poorly constructed unit!

SOURCE: Interkool 900 stopped cooling -

t seems like there is a problem with the thermosat, or the compressor. Its not sensing the temperature being to warm to kick the compressor on and cool it down. OR the compressor itself id dead. Hope I could help.

Neff fridge/freezer has stopped cooling

pull the unit from the wall, remove the bottom back panel , see if the small fan is working ,if the fan is , there's probally alot of dust back there, unplug the fridg. and vacuum the area real good, use a flash light to make sure you get it all, if the fan is not working and the compressor is running the fan is the problem ,the fan keeps the compressor and coils cool so the freon can cool down so the unit works like it should,if the freon is hot ,the air the fridg.will be blowing will be hot. this should fix your problem, and YES its worth fixing.alittle p.m.saves alot of $$$$$$$$$

Unit will cool only for about 1 to 2 min. at start then stops cooling. The unit runs good and everything seems to work well. The unit is about 6 years old.

Hard to guess from the info given, but the best thing to tell you is pull the unit out of its case, assuming its a window unit, and garden hose and nozzle using a solid stream, keep the water off the rest of the unit, start at the top work across and work your way down. Clean it very good and if its dirty you should get back to working properly, Clean coils is the name of the game, they have to reject the heat.

I have a Fedders dehumidifer model # A70145D2A-A-R. It is a few years old and it's worked pretty great but now it just runs continuously and no moisture is gathered. What can I do to fix it? I was...

You'd be hard pressed to find a Fedders like yours. They've been out of business for several years.

There are several basic things that can cause what you described.

1. The humidity extraction level is improperly set. Lower the level to 32-35%

2. A dirty of clogged air intake filter. Turn the unit OFF unplug it and remove the filter for cleaning.

3. Obstructed air space. A dehumidifier requires a minimum of 12" clear air space around the entire
unit.

4. The ambient air temperature at floor level is between 40 & 60 Degrees F. Dehumidifiers do not work well in that temperature (Except low temp models). This especially true in a basement application, because the air temperature at floor level is colder than say, chest level. Raising the unit up off the floor onto a sturdy table, cabinet top, etc, that can handle the weight of the unit, plus a full tank of water, will normally resolve that problem.

5. The cooling coils are dirty and need to be cleaned.

Critical problems:
1 The humidity sensor has failed an needs to be replaced.

2.The compressor is low on refrigerant gas and needs to be recharged.

Sometimes the repairs (Time spent finding, the Parts & labor), if necessary, can cost almost as much or as much as a new unit, which would have a full warranty.

Hope this helped you troubleshoot the basic and solvable problems and you won't need to make any critical repairs. Please let me know. Thanks.

Old 2nd frig stopped working, no cooling, no compressor running, only light in compartment. Any breakers or things to check?

Of course check breakers, then unplug unit from wall for several hours (let unit compressor cool) then plug back in. If after plugging it in you continue to hear a "clicking" sound on rear of unit either start device on compressor is bad or compressor its self is gone.

Kenmore refrigerator stopped cooling 6 days ago and started working again 2 days later but not very cold.Stopped cooling again 2 days ago.Now it is frosted up in the back of the freezer,What could cause...

There are several things that could be causing this. Your compressor could be going bad. Your freon is low. Think of your refrigerator as a air conditioner. Pull it out and vacuum all the dust from your filters, make sure the water is draining properly and not clogged up. Is your unit still under warranty. How old is your unit. Try this. Unplug the unit for about 5-10 minutes, this will give it enough time for the compressor to cool down. Plug it back in and listen for the compressor to kick on. That's the big black round thing at the bottom in the back of your refrigerator. Listen to it and what the sound is, does it click when it turns on, does it shudder when it turns on. Let me know the sound. By unplugging the unit and doing this the compressor should kick on in 1-3 minutes after plugging it back in. If your unit is over 8 years old you might consider another one. Check out craigslist, as you can get some great deals. Let me know if I can help you further.

My air conditioner is 1 month old. it stopped

Find the name on your a/c unit. Then look in the yellow pages under air conditioners. There will be a service company that deals in that brand. If it is less then a year old there should be no problem with them fixing it. It should still be under warrenty. You should not need a receipt. Before you do that make sure your breaker is not tripped. The company that installed tour unit should have record of the install. Good luck

LG AC compressor problem

Compressor may be locking up. Run capacitor may be weak or loose wire. Sounds like major voltage drop off as unit head pressure increases.

Suddenly stopped cooling

Sounds to me like the run capacitor is bad. It is a dual one which means runs the fan and the compressor. No big deal capacitors are only 10 bucks and easy to replace.

First turn off the electricity to unit at breaker would be best. Next after you open the access panel locate the capacitor and make a note which wires go where one side is marked fan the other is herm. in the middle is comm. Take the old one in and get a new one same size and reinstall. Now parts only have one year warranty but they should have a discount on a person that bought a unit from them if you talk to them and tell them how can this happen only 2 years old. you know the story they might just throw one in for free to keep good business practice. Let me know how it goes. ken

Refer Norcold DE 0051 not getting cold

Your cooling unit is shot, I suggest. Most likely, you've lost the R341 refrigerant. Norcold, so they can sell you another cooling unit at $500+, does not make these little fridges with a service port so you can recharge the system. Same with Dometic. Solution is to spend, again, $500+ for a new sealed unit that will fail in relatively short order (I'm on my second in five years) or buy a better refrigerator. I'm opting for a new fridge this go around (Vitrifrigo). Vitrifrigo has the needed service port.
