Any text message i send goes to the out box and is either resending (to no avail) or listed as failed. I got the phone 3 days ago. It is a work phone with telstra. Nokia C%

The problem might be with "Message Center Number" which is different for different service providers.

You should call you service provider "Telstra" and ask them that number. You can then enter it in your mobile as mentioned below.

(Please rate the solution if helpful, Thank you)

Press "Menu"
Scroll to Messaging, press "Open"
Press "Options", scroll to Settings, press "Select"
Scroll to Text message, press "Open"
Scroll to Message centres, press "Open"
Scroll to SIM message centre, press "Open"
Scroll to Message centre name, press "Change"
Enter (your provider's name), press "OK"
Scroll to Message centre number, press "Change"
Enter (number provided), press "OK"
Press "Back" twice
Scroll to Message centre in use, press "Change"
Scroll to (provider's name you entered), press "OK".

I am new to texting. When I have entered my message and press 'send' I am asked for a 'centre number' -where do I find this please?

The centre number means the SMS service centre number. This is the number that your message is initially sent to before being forwarded on by your network provider.
It depends on the network as to which number you enter, but here is a fairly up to date list of UK SMS centre numbers:
O2 - +447802000332 (contract) +447802092035 (pay as you go) T-Mobile - +447958879879 Orange - +447973100973 Vodafone - +447785016005 Tesco Mobile - +447802092035 Virgin - +447958879890 3 / Three - +447782000800 ASDA Mobile - +447785014315 GiffGaff - +447802002606

If this doesn't work, try calling your network provider and they'll give you their current SMS centre number.

All the best,
plainnash

A friend put his mobile number in as the message centre number. Now the Nokia will not aloow the number to be changed.. How do i make the mobile changeit Please?

Go to Messaging --> Press Options --> Text Message --> Message Centre --> If SIM Message centre number hasn't been changed please use that by choosing it via the Message centre in use option.

If number was changed, try creating a new one by going back to message centres --> Press Options --> New message centre (Inquire with your provider what message centre number you will use if you don't know)

''enter center'' when trying to text

Hi,

For all mobile network there is MESSAGE CENTRE NUMBER.
When this number is wrongly stored you will not able to send messages.

To get the message centre number please call your service provider and they will give you the message centre number.

Please save this number and set as default message service centre number. Now you can send messages.

to set the message centre number please go to
Menu--->messages--->message setting.
You will find this option here and you can save the number.

this may occured due to some some changed the centre number unknowingly.

Thanx
