Question about Logitech AudioStation High-PerDocking Station formance Stereo System for Apple iPod - 970217-0403 (097855040244)

Open Question

Hi my power supply is broken - no help from logitech in Australia - they've messed me around for six months plus! Do you know where I can get a replacement? If not, do you know where I can get a circuit diagram ( DH Mesa 24 B1) - there are several burnt components - at least two resistors and a fuse, and maybe some micro components - hard to tell the values as they are fried. Any help appreciated. thanks

SOURCE: Logitech X-530 5.1 speaker set blows internal fuse

Thats because its a 5amp 250Volts. You must have an older model and the beefed up the fuse later in production. mine just blew, unsoldered and about to replace. It states LF.T5AL250V. Hope that helps everyone. Takes about ten minutes to unscrew a good 20 screws, most of them are bolts and have nuts on the back so be prepared to have a pair of pliers handy, takes a 5 dollar solder gun from walmart to heat up the solder in the two points that are holding the fuse, once solder turns to liquid pull one side out, do the same to the other side to free the fuse. Fuse is in some kind of hold that i nearly impossible to remove (if you removed it then your in good shape, replace and solder in again) if you didnt remove it then head to home depot and pick up a small fuse holder and solder the leads in with just cheap solder from walmart. Be sure not to drip any solder over anything else on the board. Overall pretty easy fix.

Broke fins/tumblers

This is an easy fix. You need to pop the top of the dryer up to do so. Depending on the model you may have to take the front off (older models), or just locate the clips located on the left and right side under the lid, and with a flat head screw driver push them in and lift up. (newer models). After you have the top up, located the baffle thats broken and install. Keep in mind that if the baffle is loose its more than like the hole where the screw goes is stripped and the whole baffle should be changed.

My iphone4 will no longer play music in my s715i. I have 2 gigaware boxes it will still play in just not the logitech. Says not supported. Played great for first six months, I know it is an iphone...

Hi harkirj,

There's an ongoing compatibility issue with Logitech s715i and iphone/ipod. If you're using iphone 4 with iOS 4.3 you will be encountering no sound or unit won't play at all. It only works for iOS 4.2. You can use a 3.5 mm jack, connect it to the top of the iphone to the back of the player and it will work. However, you will lose all functionality of the remote, battery etc.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Power supply different voltage supply will it work in Australia

Unless the power supply is a multi-system* type, the unit will not work in Australia without major modifications to suit the mains voltage. The differences between USA and Australian voltages are significant. We use a higher voltage rating for appliances than America does, and appliances made for Australia operate at around 220-250V AC.

In order for it to function correctly and safely in Australia, the power supply would need major modification, which can prove expensive, and often impractical.

Hi. I recently moved house, as a result, my Logitech EX100 wireless keyboard sat in a box, unused for about a month. I unboxed it and set up my PC once we'd moved house, but I couldn't get the keyboard...

When batteries leak, they usuallly rot out the connectors and anything in the local. Your warranty may have been voided with that so don't be too hard on yourself because you had a crack at sorting it out.

Besides, you've now got a trendy doorstop.

Need to know where to purchase simpletech 963000-41001-011 ac adaptor

Often you can find power supplies on eBay but I could not see anything that matched your equipment but you may want to try a search again another time.

I'm not sure what part of the world you are in but if you take your broken power supply into an electronics store like Tandy, Radio Shack. I'm in Australia and **** Smith or Jaycar should stock these unless yours is very unusual.

You need to match the Input voltage for your country (if ordering online) and the output voltage for your device. Plus the Amps required for your device. This is normally written on both the adapter and the device.

If you are lucky you will be able to find one with the right shaped plug to fit your device. If not you will need a couple of connectors and you can use the plug off your old power supply and just join them up. Don't forget to check the polarity ( + and - ) if you get them around the wrong way you will likely break the drive. There are always small multi lingual symbols that describe which way around the + and the minus goes.

Hope this helps and Good luck
