ANOTHER THING I WOULD CHECK IS THE AMPS YOUR MOTOR IS DRAWING , MATCH THE AMPS TO THE NAME PLATE ON YOUR MOTOR SHOULD BE RIGHT AT IT OR UNDER ... THE NAME PLATE AMPS.. SO SAY A 1HP 1.0 SF MOTOR HAS A 7.6 AMP RATING AT 23O VOLTS THAT SAME MOTOR WILL SET TO 115V CAN DRAW 15.3 AMPS .. VOLT AND AMP METERS ARE CHEAP AND A VALUABLE TOOL AROUND THE HOUSE,CAR... NOW IF' I WAS ANY HELP TO YA ALL . HIT THE RATING OR HELPED BUTTON ........... THANKS AND BE CAREFUL EVERYDAY ... JAY

I need instructions for setting my Malibu ML88T

Do you mean the Intermatic Malibu ML88T power pack? Intermatic has most of their manuals on their support page: http://intermaticstore.com/en/productresources/productdocumentation . Since the ML88T is a discontinued model, click on the link on the right for Discontinued Product Documentation then on the power pack link. The ML88T support page is: http://intermaticstore.com/en/productresources/discontinued_product_documentation/power_packs . The direct link to the manual is http://intermaticstore.com/en/productresources/discontinued_product_documentation/power_packs/ml88t .

I hope this helps.

Intermatic t10004rt3 pool timer cycles a loud hum/buzz noise like bad contacts or relay

T10004R control center has one T104 240V timer, with extra space for another timer or freeze control etc.
You can clean up the timer and replace clock motor to stop most noises.
The T104M (M for mechanism-only, snaps into the control center enclosure.
The T104 also snaps out of enclosure using thumb spring located top inside box.
Take image of wires before disconnecting from timer.
The T104 is identical to WH40, same parts, same trippers, same appearance, except with different override lever.
Here are photos of WH40 showing how to take apart timer and clean it, also with links identifying replacement parts:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Photos-of-WH40-timer.html
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-T104-Intermatic-timer.html#T104

If you need to replace timer, it is cheaper to buy the ordinary T104 that comes inside a box and can be snapped out, instead of buying T104M (M for mechanism-only)

I have an intermatic T40404R5 which is what I believe to be a double T104 220V, 125 amps. This timer controls our pool. A couple years ago we had our pool converted to salt water and they hooked the...

Pump humming means start capacitor is bad on motor, and motor is overheating and will soon burn out unless serviced immediately. First symptom is humming, and next is tripped breaker. Overheating will melt this pump.
Timer issue probably separate, such as clock motor burned out, or overheating melted terminals inside timer.

T40404R5 is fully repairable: Plastic insulator cover is 124T1952 or 124T2411A. Yes I would cover terminals so there is no possibility of high voltage arc to metal box.

Sylvania timer has 1 year limited warranty.

Sylvania timer can be used for 1000W incandescent Loads and Motor loads up to 1/4Hp
All outdoor timers are susceptible to power surge from nearby lightning.
Timers are also affected by line noise and incorrect outlet polarity.
Test outlet with circuit analyzer. Use timer to control different Load on different outlet.
If more than one timer has same problem, then suspect can be line noise and outlet polarity.

My HB31R runs slow. Is there any adjustment ability to the timer mechanism to achieve a correct 24 hour timer.

http://www.intermatic.com/products/timers/consumer%20outdoor%20timers/electromechanical%20timers/hb31r.aspx

HB31R heavy duty 1800 Watt outdoor plug-in timer is one-piece unit that does not come apart for repairs.

Usually with these mechanical dial timers, when the clock motor starts getting weak, the timer dial starts to stall when tripper meets on-off lever.
And then timers runs slow.
At this point, the little plastic gears are getting stripped out, or the clock motor is overheating.
In either case, the clock motor is spiraling downward.

If this is new timer, take it back.
If this is older timer, the manual and fact sheet do not show a warranty.
New HB31R on ebay for $15

Woods makes 1200 Watt outdoor timer, but lighter weight than Intermatic:
http://www.amazon.com/Woods-59204-Weather-Outdoor-Repeats/dp/B0014WRNNK

With larger heavy duty outdoor timers like the Intermatic T-101R outdoor 120Volt timer, you can buy the clock motor separate and replace when clock goes bad. And you can buy the trippers separate. However T100 series timers are not plug-in, they are hard-wired. T-101 is made to last 10-15 years, but cost $60-70. My local Lowes sells them in stock for less.
