Its a bit of a guess, but your graphics card/chip could be overheating. It will require dismantling your laptop(Remove all power sources first) locating your card/chip, Check its fan is working and probably cleaning and replacing the heatsink and paste.

Upon powering the system keep on tapping F2on you system till you get a blue screen which is the BIOS screen no need to do anything on that screen just set teh BIOS back to defaults then press F10 then it should say save and exit depending on the bios of your system, or you can press ESC and also give you the option to save and exit again this depends on the BIOS on how you can exit after setting the BIOS back to defaults it should restart the computer after you exit the BIOS screen, monitor the situation if the error will still happen, if not then its just a small BIOS Glitch not to worry it happens, but if still the issue occurs try booting the system into safe mode upon power keep tapping F8 select safe mode log in as administrator, in safe mode it is basically the same as you windows with the drivers disabled in safe mode there you can uninstall and reinstall you video card drviers before doing the un-installation, download the drivers first from you computer manufacturers website then do the uninstallation and reinstalltion of the new drivers and yeah if your system connects wirelessly I suggest instead of safe mode select safe mode with networking for your wireless to be able to connect in safe mode happy troubleshooting ^_^

What could be the problem with my laptop (Lenovo G460, Processor - Intel Pentium)

Does it come back up if you reboot? If so, you might have a video driver problem. Your laptop has an Nvidia N11M-GE1 graphics chip integrated into the system. You can download the drivers here: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/lenovo-g-series-laptops/lenovo-g460-notebook

However, you may have a worse problem. White screen issues are often caused by bad cabling, in which case you (or a certified technician) would have to open your laptop's bezel and check the wiring for the screen.

Third possibility is ensuring your power options are set to NOT turn off the screen after any amount of time. Sometimes Windows doesn't recognize that something as simple as a movie is currently playing, so it tries to hibernate, and that causes the issue.

Best,
-Jon

Tv screen turns black and red when playing through pioneer receiver

Usually when I hear of solid colors that display on a TV, my first solution would be to change the cable. We know your DVD player is working as you connected it straight to your TV and you report no problems. I assume you are using a composite cable (red, white, and yellow) Red and White being the Audio and Yellow your video.

But since your player works...and your tv works under the same input, then the only other issue would be the output cable from the receiver or the actual composite input or output connector is faulty.

try a video game system in place of the dvd player through your receiver..if it happens again, then change the receiver's output cable...if it still persists then your reciever's output connector is faulty.

I hope this helps.

Im trying to set up my tv, it was given to me as a gift, my uncle was using it it works i can change the channels but when i try to work my dvd player with it, only the audio comes on the screen stays...

Hi,
Please few things...
1- Make sure audio and video wires are hooked correctly in AV input of tv and you selected that AV input in tv with its remote.
2- Also check your dvd has not been set on progressive mode if you hook dvd player through yellow-red-white wires with tv.
3- if dvd player is set on progressive mode, then hook it with tv by component video input, red-green-blue for video and red-white for audio.
Hope this info will solve your problem.
Thanks.
