Question about Panasonic NV-DS37 Camcorder

Open Question

Problems first started with condensation signal, after leaving it for several hours. Start in camera mode all ok, then I put tape in & press mode button for VCR. VCR light comes on for a couple of seconds then the camera red light starts flashing, the sign "press reset button" appears, which I did the camera turns off & then back on but the camera red light is flashing & the sign "to service" appears. When I start up with out a tape the screen shows what the camera is pointed at, but there is a small flashing red oblong box with a line going top left corner to bottom right corner and red dots in the back ground. SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: Please reoperate after pressing reset button

When you switch it on the red led will light up but within 10 seconds it will flash and then a message on the screen will come on to tell you to reset then tell you "in service".
This will repeat itself forever to frustrate you no end but I have stumbled onto tricking it into working, ie get the led on without progressing to flash. Try switching it on and as soon the led comes on, switch it off, do this a few times, then leave the switch on and voila it might stay on like it did for me.
Just now I have ran it for an hour, switch it off then after 30 seconds turn it back on and it stays on.
I thick the reset button is all bull. Let me know how it all went or am I all bull for your NV-DS38.

My PD170 Start/Stop button cannot work (all 3 buttons). There's also no explanation on LCD. I already try to leave it for some hours with cassete compartment opened (hopefully it's only moisture problem)...

Sony cameras have a Hard-Lock switch that prevents buttons being pressed if locked, also make certain the tab on back of tape has not been slid to protect mode.

Dew Detected message

When the camera's circuits detect condensation on the tape heads, this message is shown and the camera shuts down. This is to prevent damage to tapes, that could stick to the damp head.  It is recommended to leave the camera in a warm and dry place until sufficient time has elapsed for the condensation to evaporate. This may be several hours. Do not leave the camera anywhere too warm that is likely to damage it, like on a stove or radiator.  This issue is commonly caused by moving the camera from the cold outdoors, into the warmth of indoors. If the symptoms persist, the head may be dirty. try a head cleaner cassette, or failing that, return for service.

E04 unit in safeguard mode

I tried every method I could find from people posting on the web, but the method that worked for me is this.

1. Eject the tape and close the tape holder.
2. Turn the camera off and remove the battery.
3. Put the battery back in. Leave the camera off.
4. Open the tape holder.
5. Slide the tape in, but as you press the holder in to accept the tape, keep your finger pressing in on the holder, being careful not to slow the tape holder from moving downward.
6. Turn the camera on.
7. If it doesn't work the first time, press more firmly to help the tape holder accept the tape.

That's it. This method seems to work for me and lets me use the camera for a long while. If the camera is sitting unused for more than a few hours, I have to do it again. And each time I insert a tape, I make sure that I keep pressing as the tape holder lowers the tape.
