Question about Acer 22" X223w LCD Monitor

My Acer LCD monitor has become black and white only since I downloaded Windows 7 home premium family pack. I would like to know how to make it color again. I previously has Vista home premium.

This product installs automatically without extra software using Windows 7. You will need to restart your computer and then go into your control panel and then your display properties and then settings and adjust the color quality.

    I tried what you said and I'm still not getting any colour results! I saw things like calibrate color but I didn't know what to do with that information. Can you call me at +6494207816 so we can get this done?

    Ok, firstly, please try the monitor on another computer. If it's working fine there, then you'll need to reinstall your video drivers on your system.

    Unfortunately there is no other computer to hook it up to. I have a notebook, but I don't think that will help will it?

    Is there any other way to tackle this problem without hooking the monitor up to another computer?

    Before you go forward, the monitor needs to be made clear. You can try it on your notebook if the video ports are compatible. Your monitor has two Ports, Vga and Dvi-D, please let me know the notebook model and brand. Or if you have little idea, first try it. Good luck.

    It's an Acer Aspire 9502. Isn't there another way to test my monitor and see if it's a driver problem or something else causing the black and white problem?

    To test the drivers, you need to uninstall the current driver and after restarting the computer, reinstall it. Please make sure you install Windows 7 driver not any other.
    If you can at least connect the monitor to your laptop, that'd be very much helpful. To minimize/narrow down the troubleshooting task, we need to follow up the basic steps first. I hope you understand. Give it another try. Just unplug the Vga cable from the Pc and connect to your notebook while it is still on. There's nothing to get damaged. Good luck.

    I FINALLY plugged my monitor cable into the laptop and NOTHING happened. Hence, I can't determine anything from that exercise. So I guess we're down to reinstalling the driver. Since I have no idea of how to do this, can you assist me?

Monitor goes black


When you shut down your computer is normal. When you turn off your monitor is normal. Otherwise it's possible something not normal happens.

Graphics Unable to use the native resolution, such as 1920x1080, 1680x1050 and 1440x900 circuit388.gif Symptom(s):
On some displays, users may be unable to use the native resolution when using Intel® chipset graphics. Resolutions such as 1920x1080, 1680x1050, and 1440x900 are not available in graphics properties.

Cause:
The display's EDID is not read properly when connected to some digital flat panel displays. Display devices describe its capabilities by sending EDID (Extended Display Information Data) to the computer.

Solution:
Intel has released a graphics driver to specifically address this issue; however, there may be side effects to this solution such as longer than normal resume times from standby. This solution will only work with external displays such as DFP displays connected to the computer's VGA port. This driver is not designed to address issues with a notebook's built-in display (Local Flat Panel) or with TV’s connected to the system. This driver is provided as is. Intel has not tested, and does not guarantee, the operation of the driver for this purpose.

The contrast of the monitor is very low. reset the monitor settings using the menu button in the monitor.
