Re: doesnt work half the time
I've had the same problem with other d-link products i've discovered that if you do a tracert it isn't routing and will drop every packet, the routing tables are getting lost and it's probably best to buy a new one, it isn't fixable as far as i know but yeh goodluck

Hi i have the same problem with Zyxel router. I have tried to reset it, to unplug and whait, to insstaal new drivers but Zyxel router is still not wokring properly. It sometimes work for a half day and sometimes it just unconnects the internet 5 times in a minute.. I went where i bought it and they gived me anoder zyxel router, the same, but i still have the same problem.
Make sure all the wires are connected properly. 1.-Unplug your modem and router from the power supply. Wait 1 minute. 2.-Plug your modem back to the power and wait for all the lights to stop flashing. 3.-Plug your router back to the power and wait for the lights to stop flashing Follow these steps and your internet should be working again!
I would suggest you reset the router once. To reset the router , please follow the instructions in the link below.
If the router doesnt respond, then time to get a replacement. Please call Belkin Support and am sure they can help
Since the wireless works fine on your router, then it is possible that there is a problem either on your ethernet cable or on the port of the belkin router.
Try a different ethernet cable. (Ethernet cable is the one that is connected from your computer to the router.) If you don't have a spare cable, you can directly connect the computer to the modem, just to isolate the issue and determine if it is the cable or the computer itself.
If you have determined that the cable is working fine, then try a different port on the router.
I hope this helps!
1) We are having a similar problem, and each time the internet "fails" we have to reset the router by unplugging it for 30 seconds. After that, it works a random amount of time before it stops routing again. 2) Occasionally we have to reset the DSL unit that comes into the house (feeds the router) as well. We also unplug this for 30 seconds. 3) Do you have the CD-Rom that comes with this router? It supposedly has all the set up information. Right now I am trying to locate my so I don't know if it is any good. 4) Also, have you checked your power supply? If it is not powering the router, of course that would stop everything too.
Recently there has been a issue found with the time and date settings on the NETGEAR router. NETGEAR router pull time settings from diffrent NTP servers online. It seems that these NTP servers are either down or not working properly.
Wait for few more days and then check the date and time settings on the router.
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

Try The Reset Switch on the back...Then If that doesnt solve the problem plug it directly into a computer alone and go to your web browser and type in http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.2.1 It is usually your default ip of your Router and look for a reset link...if that doesnt work try a firmware upgrade from NetGears Website
