Ok, to do this you simply need to remove router from the power, and then at the tear you should see a small hole and inside a switch button, press this button and hold for a few seconds, and then this will "Reset" the router back to factory defaults" you then can login with the "Default" password. which I think is admin admin, but in any even I have included a manual that shows you how to do it all anyway.

However if you mean a WEP/WAP password, well you still do the same however, after you reset it, you then login to router go to security and generate a "Key" so you can WiFi login to the router. and save it.

Hi Friend,

In order to resolve the issue, you may also follow the steps:

1.Connect the wire (which is coming out from the modem, i.e, the internet wire)
into the WAN/Internet port of the router.
2.Connect your computer to any of the four LAN ports with a Ethernet cable(usually

Blue/Yellow/Grey color wire)
3.Turn on the router
4.At the back of the Router there is a Red/Black button (Reset Button)
5.Push and Hold that button for 30 seconds.
6.Release the button and turn off the router for 30 seonds and turn it on again.
7.Type in the address bar of the Internet Explorer and hit Enter
8.Enter the username and password (default password is admin and leave the username

9.Now click Wireless tab and fill the sections as mentioned:

Wireless Network Mode:Mixed
Wireless Network Name:As per your choice
Wireless Channel-6-2.437GHz
Wireless SSID-Enabled

10.Now Click Wireless Security and fill the sections as mentioned(if you want to make

your network password protected)

Security Mode-WEP
Default Key-1
WEP Encrypion-64 bits 10hex digits
Key1-Enter 10 digit password(e.g-your 10 digit telephone number) and click Save

After completing all the above steps, turn off the Router for 30 seconds and turn it on

after that. You can connect your wireless devices.

I hope this will resolve the issue. Thank you for visiting

Hi! You need to access the GUI (Graphical User Interface) of your router by accessing its IP.
Here's how?
Open command prompt - type ipconfig press enter check the default gateway value (Example: type the default gateway value on your browser's address bar (Internet Explorer) press enter. you may be asked for a username and password. do not type anything on the username textbox and then type admin as your password. you may see the GUI of the linksys that is easy to configure, It includes usernam and password that you can set for your router. Thanks for visiting!

Forgot login password

Overview If you have forgotten your Linksys password, you have a couple of options. You can try to use the default settings to log into the router settings and change your password, or you can simply reset the router and set it up again. Either way, you will need to create a new password to use in the future. Read on to learn what to do about a lost Linksys router password.
Try the Default You can try to log in to the Linksys setup page and create a new router password using the default user name and password. This will only work if you did not change the default password when you originally set up your router.
Open a web browser window, such as Internet Explorer or Firefox. Type into the address bar. Do not include any prefixes, such as http:// or www. Press Enter or click Go. A dialog box will open prompting you for a user name and password. Try leaving both fields blank and clicking OK. If this does not give you access, type admin into the User Name box and Password into the Password box. Click OK again. If you succeed, you can configure your router settings again and create a new password. Read the first article in this series, Configuring a Linksys Router Settings, to learn how to do so.
Reset the Router
If you are unable to log in to the Linksys router setup page using the default user name and password, you do have another option to solve your lost Linksys router password problem, which is to reset your router. 3d1cb9ca10deccfc3b6a854cda8b29a7cd240d6d_small.jpg

Look for a small Reset button on the back, front or the bottom of your Linksys router. The location of the button depends on the router model, so look carefully. As a precaution the buttons are small and inconspicuous, so that users do not accidentally reset their routers.
Once you have located the Reset button, press and hold it for at least ten seconds. You may need to use something with a small point, such as the end of a paperclip or a pencil tip to depress the button. Release the button and wait for the router to start back up. This will restore the router to its initial factory settings as it was when you first set it up. You will need to configure it again and choose a new password. Refer to the first article in this series for instructions on how to do so.

How to set a password?

  • Access the router's default configuration address through your Web browser by entering this address: (see Resources). Do not enter a user name. Enter "admin" for the password. That process works for all new Linksys routers. If you have changed the user name or password in the past, use the user name and password that you created.

  • 2

When the configuration screen opens, click on the "Wireless" tab and select "Wireless Security" to view the router's current security password. The "Security Mode" field will say "Disabled" if you do not have a password to secure your network.

  • 3

Select the appropriate encryption type from the "Security Mode" drop-down menu. Linksys routers offer WEP and WPA encryption. WPA encryption allows you to use a single password to access the network. WEP encryption creates 10- or 26-character keys that act as your password. Some of your wireless devices may only utilize a certain type of encryption. Determine which protocol is best for your network.

  • 4

Enter a password that will be required to access the network. For WPA encryption, you can write your own password. For WEP encryption, click the "Generate" button to create passwords that can be used to access the network. Write down your passwords and keep them in a secure location.

  • 5

Click "Save Settings" to confirm your changes. Your network will now be secured and will require a password for access.

  • 6

Click the "Administration" tab to create a password to access the router configuration page itself. Be sure to change the password from the default "admin." Reenter the password for confirmation in the next field. Click "Save Settings" to confirm your new password.
